Roles & Responsibilities

Solid background in Java backend development with hands-on experience
Experience in building banking products, ideally in retail banking or fintech
Ability to collaborate with Product teams on roadmap, regulatory constraints, and commercial relevance
Experience working in regulated environments and exposure to core banking systems (ledgering, payments, cards, etc.)

Job description

We are looking for a person who will lead the engineering efforts behind our core banking backend. We want someone with hands-on experience building and operating distributed backend systems. Our future colleague should be comfortable making architectural decisions, debugging production issues, scaling services, and mentoring teams on engineering best practices.

Our current stack includes: AWS EKS, Java (Spring Boot), MySQL, Kafka, Redis, Grafana - Prometheus.

Requirements

Solid background in Java backend development, ideally with a hands-on experience before stepping into leadership
Experience in building banking products before - ideally in retail banking or fintech
Ability to collaborate closely with Product team on shaping the roadmap, understanding regulatory constraints, and ensuring what we build is not just technically solid but also commercially relevant
Prior experience working in regulated environments is a plus, as is any exposure to core banking systems (ledgering, payments, cards, etc.)
Fluent Russian and English languages
