Roles & Responsibilities

  • 3+ years of experience leading Agile projects as a Scrum Master/Project Manager in a remote environment
  • Proficiency with Jira/ADS boards, backlog management, sprint planning, and Agile metrics reporting (velocity charts, burn charts, etc.)
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills; ability to shield the team from interruptions and align with Product Owner, RTE/Program Manager, and Portfolio leads
  • Knowledge of ADUSA IT Agile processes; familiarity with Waterfall; experience with infrastructure projects is preferred

Requirements:

  • Facilitate all scrum ceremonies (Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review/Demo, Retrospectives) and coach the team on Agile practices
  • Collaborate with Product Owner to maintain a healthy backlog, prioritize work, plan sprints based on capacity, remove impediments, and monitor progress to meet sprint commitments
  • Track team velocity and publish metrics (velocity charts, sprint burn up/down charts, release burn charts); create/maintain Scrum/Kanban JIRA/ADS boards with up-to-date work
  • Manage project scope and timeline: negotiate priorities with PO/business, protect the team from interruptions, build sprint calendars and release plans, monitor delivery timelines and report risks/issues

Agile Squad Leadership

100% Remote

Responsible for facilitating all the scrum ceremonial meetings like the Daily Scrum, Sprint planning, Sprint Demo/Review & retrospectives.

Helps the Product Owner and Scrum team create & maintain a healthy product backlog and helps the team in continuously managing & prioritizing the backlog.

Helps the team plan sprints based on team capacity, remove impediments that may hinder progress and continuously monitor sprint progress and assist the team in meeting the Sprint commitments.

Track team(s) velocity and publish metrics like velocity charts, sprint burn up/down charts and release burn up/down charts.

Create, setup and maintain the Scrum/Kanban JIRA/ADS boards for the team and ensure all work is tracked and updated regularly on the board.

Manage the overall scope of the project and negotiate with the PO/business on priority and what can be accomplished by the team.

Protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions.

Build out a sprint calendar, release plan(s) and manage the overall timeline & delivery of the project.

Review project team allocations, project related POs/invoices & manage the project financials.



Reporting & Communication

Identify, track, manage, escalate and report on risks and issues.

Create & publish weekly Clarity project status reports & host Steering Committee meetings.

Negotiates and aligns the expectations with the capacity/ commitment and the team deliverables

Keeps the RTE/ Program Manager and Portfolio lead informed of the milestones/ deliverables of the team

Escalates as needed to remove impediments for the team

Coaching &

People Leadership

Establish an environment for the team to thrive and bring out the best in them. Motivate the team and build positive, lasting relationships with the team and other stakeholders.

Coach the team on Agile best practices and help the team continually improve by using retrospective meetings as learning and adjust/improve based on the findings/recommendations.


Process, Tools, Standards, and Continuous Improvement

Accountable to follow ADUSA IT Agile processes for delivery of commitments

Provides feedback into the improvement of Agile practice

Knowledge in Waterfall is required as well.

Experience and undertanding of Infrastructure is desired
