Senior SEO Strategist – Technical & Client-Facing (Agency Role | Remote, UK)
We are hiring on behalf of a high-performance digital agency for a Senior SEO Strategist with strong technical capabilities and deep, hands-on experience in SEO strategy development. This is not a traditional account management or sales role—it's a strategy-first, SEO-specialist position with client leadership responsibilities. You'll be the SEO lead for high-profile clients, responsible for advanced technical, on-page, and off-page SEO strategy and execution, with support from a skilled team.
This role is ideal for a seasoned SEO professional who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, enjoys solving complex SEO challenges, and is comfortable leading strategy calls, audits, and implementation planning. You’ll be the technical brain behind SEO success, not a liaison or project coordinator.
Lead SEO strategy and execution for multiple high-value clients—owning outcomes, performance, and innovation.
Conduct in-depth technical audits, identify ranking opportunities, and deliver data-driven action plans that drive traffic and conversions.
Be the main SEO expert in client calls, translating technical recommendations into business value clearly and confidently.
Oversee SEO deliverables including site structure, crawl optimization, schema, Core Web Vitals, internal linking, and international SEO.
Collaborate closely with in-house teams across paid media, content, and CRO to deliver integrated digital strategies.
Mentor junior SEOs, contribute to operational improvements, and support the agency’s continuous evolution of SEO best practices.
5+ years of hands-on SEO experience (minimum 2+ years in a digital agency).
Strong proficiency in technical SEO, site migrations, mobile and AI-driven SEO, structured data, and content strategy.
Proven experience owning SEO strategy for complex, large-scale websites or e-commerce platforms.
Comfortable with advanced tools like Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, GA4, Ahrefs, Semrush, Search Console, Clarity, Tag Manager, Looker Studio, etc.
Ability to write and present strategy decks and performance reviews—backed by analytics and technical insight.
Confident communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Commercial awareness and the ability to align SEO performance with business objectives.
Experience with AI Search Optimisation, voice search, and NLP-based content structuring.
Web development background (e.g., HTML, CSS, WordPress/Elementor).
Familiarity with conversion optimisation, UX audits, and international SEO challenges.
