VP of Operations

About the Role

The VP of Operations will be integral to shaping and executing the companys operational strategy while ensuring seamless and efficient processes across the organization. Your responsibilities include evaluating and endorsing policies, standards, and operational plans for presentation to the Board of Directors, approving account openings and closures for new users, and supervising the preparation of detailed reports for each customer, including the calculation of the net asset value (NAV) at the end of each day. Your strategic oversight and operational expertise will drive the continuous improvement of our processes, contributing to the robust and efficient functioning of the company.

Responsibilities

• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments within the fund management, crypto, and blockchain space to ensure the companys operational policies are up-to-date with market practices.

• Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to operations and business matters as required by authorities (i.e., SEC, BOT, AMLO).

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all systems and processes comply with the relevant operational policies and procedures.

• Lead conversations related to operations with regulatory bodies, including the SEC, AMLO, BOT, and more.

• Design, implement, and monitor policies, standards, and operational plans to ensure operational efficiency based on a deep understanding of the operational practices of a fund management firm.

• Oversee the approval process for user account openings and closures.

• Lead the Operations Team to ensure the robust and efficient functioning of the company.

• Supervise the preparation of customer reports, including the calculation of the net asset value (NAV) for all investment mandates.

• Evaluate and endorse risk management policies, strategies, tools, and plans as part of the Risk Management Committee.

• Offer recommendations, share expertise, and provide counsel on operational practices to the Board of Directors, Investment Committee, and company executives.

• Carry out further tasks as directed by the Board of Directors, the CEO, or other ad-hoc matters that may arise due to the fast-paced nature of fintech/blockchain startups.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or above in a related field with at least 5 years of experience in Operations within a fund management firm or a financial institution.

• Strong understanding of operational procedures and practices for the crypto, financial services, and/or fund management industry.

• Experience leading conversations with regulators on operations-related topics.

• Experience working with the management team in designing and implementing fund management policies and procedures (not required but preferable).

• Experience preparing applications for and acquiring asset management licenses in Thailand (not required but preferable).

• Project management and organizational skills; able to coordinate projects.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Able to work independently if required, and learn quickly and adapt to different roles in a growing team.

• A sense of urgency, pragmatism, and a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.

• Commercially astute, highly-driven, and pragmatic, with influencing and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate legal and compliance concepts to internal stakeholders.

Language Proficiency

• Excellent command of English and Thai languages (reading, writing, and speaking).
