Video Editor (DO - 08202024 - PTVE)

Position: Video Editor
Number of hours: 20 hours/week
Schedule: PST

Tasks required:

• Manipulate and edit videos in a way that is invisible to the audience

• Take a brief to grasp clients needs and specifications

• Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity

• Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film

• Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects

• Create rough and final cuts

• Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running

• Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process

• Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency

• Other ad hoc tasks that would be assigned

Requirements:

• Must have 1 year of experience as a Video Editor

• Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects or Final Cut)

• Deep understanding of digital trends and editing principles as well as effective social media video formatting and composition

• Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity

• Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio

• Ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines

• Exhibit strong work ethic and initiative

• Clear and concise communicator with effective verbal and written communication skills

• Self-disciplined and organized; able to consistently hit daily and monthly targets with limited supervision
