Our Inside Property Adjuster specializes in adjusting residential and commercial property claims. Our focus is high quality claim investigation and resolution. We're seeking a conscientious individual with high attention to detail, excellent decision-making, ability to work well under pressure, solid organizational and time management skills to balance diverse tasks in a standard work day. 


Part Time Flexible Hours Remote position in Eastern Time Zone 5+ Property Experience Preferred 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Examines and applies claims forms, policies and endorsements, client instructions and other records to determine coverage and client exposure.
  • Adjusts all elements of Commercial and Personal Lines Property Loss claims of varying levels of severity and complexity with minimal supervision.
  • Sets loss reserves.
  • Prepares written reports by collecting and summarizing information required by client.
  • Maintains expected case load.
  • Maintains company reputation and integrity of work product by complying with federal and state regulations and service standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.
  • Assists/Mentors less-experienced adjusters with claims handling when requested.
  • Participates in special projects or performs duties in other areas if requested.
  • Engages and manages consultants/independent contractors to assist in determining facts, causation, damage and exposure.
  • Keeps the client and the insured informed about the claim status with clear, timely and accurate written/oral communication.
  • Prepares accurate, clear, thorough and concise reports and letters to clients to explain findings, conclusions and recommendations with minimal guidance.
  • Negotiates settlement of claims of varying complexity with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains accurate, thorough notes, journal entries and time and expense records as required. 
  • Maintains adjuster license(s) when required. 
Requirements


  • Requires a high school diploma; advanced education beyond high school preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum Five (5) years’ experience successfully handling various types of property claims. Homeowners and Commercial preferred.  
  • Must be licensed, or have the ability to obtain license(s), as required by state and local jurisdictions to adjust insurance claims.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to provide excellent service to policyholders and clients. 
  • Ability to efficiently operate a computer and related claims and business software.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to make decisions and resolve conflict with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical ability.  
  • Ability to work independently in a virtual environment when required. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.  

Physical Demand Requirements:

The physical requirements associated with the position are limited. Repetitive tasks associated with typing, note taking, telephonic communication and operating standard office equipment are required. Employees are required to work within a Capstone office unless otherwise directed by management.
