Position Summary:
The Small Commercial Lines Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the department. This role is tactical and execution-focused, ensuring smooth workflow, accountability, and support for the team. The Manager will work under the direction of the EVPs and focus exclusively on operational implementation.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Approve and manage PTO requests for Small Commercial Lines staff.
  • Assign back-up coverage and ensure continuity of service during absences.
  • Monitor daily workflows and escalate issues to leadership when needed.
  • Provide guidance and support for AMS360 usage, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are being followed consistently across the team.
  • Serve as an accessible resource for team members on operational questions.
  • Implement operational initiatives and changes as directed by EVPs.
  • Support accountability by tracking completion of assigned tasks and deadlines.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Prior experience in insurance operations or team coordination, within small commercial lines space.
  • Active California P&C License
  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial lines
  • 2+ years of managerial experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with AMS360 (or comparable agency management system) preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a tactical, execution-driven role under senior leadership direction.
  • Ability to work Pacific Time Zone hours.
