Company Description

About us

Hello, we’re Reach. Every day, our trusted news, stories and content connect with millions of people where they live whether that’s on their social feed or at their neighbourhood newsstand; through their local community or their take on the hot topic of the day.

Were home to more than 120 brands from household names like the Mirror, Express, Daily Star and Daily Record, to local titles like MyLondon, BelfastLive, and the Manchester Evening News, and brands making a splash in the US like the Irish Star.

Its our ability to understand people and the things that matter to them that makes us Britain and Irelands largest commercial news publisher. We reach around 70% of the UKs online population, 10% of the US online population, and over 100 million social followers around the world, connecting with them on who they are, where they live and what they love.

Your story, with Reach

As a modern media organisation, were much more than just news. And it takes a wide range of people and skills to serve diverse audiences, customers and communities like we do.

We know everyone has their own story to tell, so we’ve built an environment where every background is respected and every day is a day to explore.

We’ll help you build a career that works with your life, while giving you the space to create and grow.

About this role

Join Reach as our Senior Commercial Lead for Scotland and play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth across the market. You’ll build and maintain senior relationships with influential clients and media agencies, champion our digital capabilities, collaborate closely with UK commercial teams and Studio Sales Scotland, lead standout pitches, and deliver accurate weekly forecasting alongside Finance.

You’ll lead a highperforming team of agency managers and clientdirect specialists, setting clear expectations, coaching in the moment, recognising great work and fostering a culture where inclusion, wellbeing and high performance thrive. You will uphold Reach’s commitment to diversity, inclusion and nondiscrimination, use AI tools in line with company policy to improve accuracy and efficiency, and act as a visible role model for positive change.

You are an established commercial leader with a strong network across Scottish agencies and major clients, commercially and analytically strong with a track record of winning briefs, accurate forecasting and sustained revenue growth. An outstanding communicator and presenter, you lead teams through clear goals, effective delegation and coaching, and you’re organised, collaborative, resilient and calm under pressure.

If you’re ready to make your mark and help build the best media sales operation in Scotland, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today.

What you’ll need to succeed:

You will bring a strong profile across major direct clients and the full spectrum of media agencies, with the confidence to build and sustain relationships at senior level in largescale businesses. Highly numerate and commercially astute, you can interrogate data, identify and maximise revenue opportunities, and report performance accurately. You are tenacious about winning briefs and knowing what it takes to get deals over the line, and you have proven leadership experience, motivating and managing teams and individuals, owning development, and creating a highperformance culture.

You communicate exceptionally well in writing, face to face and in presentations, cascading clear and consistent messages that land with impact. You delegate effectively to boost productivity and focus on strategic priorities, and you coach to develop capability and elevate team performance. You plan and organise yourself and others with precision, setting objectives, prioritising tasks, allocating resources efficiently and managing time to deliver both daytoday responsibilities and complex projects. You are a collaborative team player who remains professional at all times, adapts to evolving business needs, and approaches problems methodically, making sound decisions and staying calm under pressure.
