Job description

Our client is seeking a detailoriented and highly professional Prior Authorization & Scheduler to support their busy Endocrinology practice. This role combines insurance verification and prior authorization duties with patient scheduling, requiring a candidate who can manage both efficiently while delivering exceptional patient service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations for medications, diagnostic tests, and procedures.
  • Accurately schedule patient appointments, followups, and procedures in coordination with the Endocrinology team.
  • Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound patient calls while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
  • Communicate clearly with patients regarding authorizations, scheduling, and preparation requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize delays.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and insurance portals.
    • Requirements

      • Minimum 2 years’ experience in insurance verification, prior authorizations, andor medical scheduling.
      • Strong knowledge of insurance processes, benefits verification, and prior authorization workflows.
      • Excellent spoken English with a neutral or clear accent (critical for patient communication).
      • Ability to handle a fastpaced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
      • Strong interpersonal skills and patientfirst attitude.
      • Experience in an Endocrinology or specialty care setting is a plus.
