About the Role
Mod Op is looking for a Search Strategist to join our growing Search Experience Team, who is an experienced SEO professional who thrives at the intersection of data, creativity, and AIpowered innovation. Someone who is detailed oriented.
In this role, you’ll lead scalable SEO strategies across a broad portfolio of client websites, optimizing both today’s search engines and tomorrow’s LLMdriven ecosystems.
From Core Web Vitals to generative search readiness (Google SGE, Bing Copilot, and beyond), youll own highimpact initiatives that drive visibility, performance, and longterm discoverability. This is more than SEO, its redefining how search works in the AI era.
What You’ll Do
· Lead LLMready SEO strategies, bridging traditional and generative search
· Conduct keywordtopic research with entity optimization and semantic structure in mind
· Run technical audits (crawlability, indexing, CWV, structured data) with AIfirst frameworks
· Own local SEO execution: GMB optimization, citation building, NAP consistency
· Manage offpage SEO efforts: linkbuilding campaigns, backlink analysis, digital PR
· Collaborate with dev, UX, content, and analytics teams to implement SEO best practices.
· Analyze and create a search performance report.
· Leverage AI tools to automate tasks: new business initiatives, content prompting, schema generation, performance forecasting.
· Participate in CRO and AB testing to improve site experience and conversion.
· Stay ahead of search algorithm updates and evolving search experience platforms
Tools You’ll Use
· SEO & Analytics: GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, SurferSEO
· AI & Automation: ChatGPT Gemini (prompting), BrightEdge, Jasper, Looker Studio, Python (bonus)
· CRO, AB & UX: VWO, Hotjar, Crazy Egg, Lucky Orange
· Workflow & Tagging: Jira, Google Tag Manager, Bright Local, Airtable
Requirements
Requirements we’re Looking for:
· A true team player
· Fluent in English written and oral
· 5+ years of SEO & Search experience in agency or highgrowth digital environments
· Deep knowledge of technical SEO, content architecture, and local search
· Experience preparing sites for AIera search (SGE, Copilot, Perplexity, etc.)
· Understanding of structured data, conversational search, and entity optimization
· Comfortable with HTML, schema markup, and CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify, etc.)
· Strong analytical mindset with fluency in interpreting data + presenting insights
· Excellent communication skills — clear, concise, and clientfacing
· Selfstarter who thrives in collaboration and ambiguity
· Bonus: Experience with international SEO or JavaScriptheavy environments
