Zixi is seeking a strategic and relationship-focused Sales Director, preferablybased in California, Texas, or Washington, to lead and grow key customer accounts across our Media and Technology portfolio. This is a remote role that will focus on retention, expansion, client satisfaction and new business growth—with responsibility for maintaining and deepening customer relationships, identifying upsell opportunities, prospecting and securing new customers and delivering long-term value across our accounts. As a trusted partner to our valued customers, the Sales Director will collaborate closely with internal teams across Zixi to ensure a seamless and high-impact client experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Customer Growth and Retention: Own a portfolio of strategic customer accounts and drive growth through upsell, cross-sell, renewals, and prospecting for new business. Combine deep account knowledge with a proactive approach to hunting and opening new opportunities, ensuring Zixi is consistently positioned as a partner in solving customer challenges and enabling long-term success.
Customer Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for executive and operational stakeholders within assigned accounts. Understand customers’ evolving needs and serve as a strategic partner, delivering tailored solutions and value-added insights.
Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth by consistently meeting or exceeding targets through strategic account expansion and opportunity development. Identify and pursue new business opportunities while deepening relationships within existing accounts. Maintain a healthy and well-qualified sales pipeline to support ongoing growth and long-term success.
Account Planning & Reporting: Develop and execute strategic account plans that align to customer goals and Zixi’s growth objectives. Track and report on key metrics, upsell opportunities, and account health.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Zixi internal teams to deliver a cohesive customer experience. Serve as the voice of the customer internally and contribute to roadmap prioritization and product strategy.
Market Analysis & Industry Engagement: Stay current with industry trends, market dynamics and competitive landscape within the target region. Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities, customers’ needs and potential areas for growth.Represent Zixi at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to strengthen relationships, stay informed on market trends, and identify new business opportunities.
Qualifications, Experience and Education:
5–8 years of large account management, customer success, or business development experience in media, cloud, SaaS, broadcast, or video technology industries.
Demonstrated technical software service sales experience, with a track record of prospecting, solution selling and closing new business.
Proven success driving account expansion and retention in enterprise customer environments.
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field preferred.
Experience with cloud video delivery, media workflows, or OTT platforms is a strong plus.
Exceptional communication skills and executive presence; ability to influence and align stakeholders.
High emotional intelligence and a customer-centric mindset.
Comfortable managing a dynamic book of business and working cross-functionally to deliver solutions.
Ability to work and execute independently while collaborating with functional global teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Experience using AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Co-Pilot, Claude, or other generative AI platforms to enhance workflow, communication, or customer engagement.

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $195,000 annually, depending on factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for incentive compensation, tied to the achievement of specific performance goals.
