About Thrive

We’re one of North America’s top digital marketing firms. At Thrive, we evolve our services by continually building and growing as we learn and adapt to our clients needs and the world around us. We prioritize taking frequent steps back to examine our methods, to see what’s working and what’s not, so that we can continue to hone our expertise.

Our mission is to grow your favourite companies in a sustainable way, and as a result, we have developed a deep expertise in performance marketing, brand marketing, digital design, and data and measurement - having managed over $4 Billion USD in advertising spend over the past decade. You may not realize it, but you've probably seen some of our work with startups, Fortune 500 companies, and companies of all sizes in between (Uber, Asana, Masterclass, Snapchat, Change.org, lululemon - to name a few!).

Our culture is centered around creativity, innovation, problem-solving, empathetic understanding and continual learning. People are challenged in a way that helps them continue to achieve career growth and goals, and that also lives in harmony with being respectful of each person's boundaries. It’s an environment where we encourage each team member to experiment, and know that this doesn’t always have to lead to a successful output - but the journey there helps develop critical skills, experiences and lenses to implement in our work now and in the future. We curate playfulness in our work, and create an environment where each person knows they can be their uniquely awesome selves at Thrive.

The Role

Joining the Performance department (performance marketing) as our Performance Strategist, you'll ensure Thrive operates at peak performance by establishing efficient processes, implementing best practices, and fostering growth within your team in both technical and strategic areas. Your mission will be to develop and execute project growth initiatives, lead a high-performing team, and uphold our company philosophy. You’ll focus on setting your team up for success by enhancing the systems used to build, maintain, and grow client relationships through continuous improvement of philosophies, programs, policies, and processes.

Working Within Our Values:

At Thrive, we value teamwork and a "no politics" culture. This means that no matter your title, everyone is committed to contributing in whatever way is needed to ensure project success. Your role involves both high-level, strategic leadership and rolling up your sleeves for hands-on execution when required.

Your focus of responsibilities will be:

  • Domain: Recognized as an emerging leader in performance marketing at Thrive, you solve client challenges, elevate team skills, and drive program growth by enabling teams to excel in their projects and careers.
    • Example: You'll lead teams in the research, media planning and strategic roadmaps across mid-sized projects. You’re responsible for mobilizing internal teams and working alongside them from inception through to hands-on, ongoing execution and optimization, while reporting to stakeholders on key performance indicators.

  • Client: Organizing and leading high-impact client relationship drivers, such as client onboards and business reviews, and using the latest and most cutting-edge methods and tools available to achieve successful outcomes.
    • Example: You lead strategic conversations with small to mid-sized clients 1:1, proactively engaging in and consistently monitoring client sentiment to ensure we’re addressing any challenges and opportunities. You provide constructive feedback to team members and work with the senior operational team to address any resourcing, performance or economic shifts.

  • People: Elevating people you work directly and indirectly with to bring best-in-class solutions to projects through their thinking and execution. Supporting the development of team members to grow company performance expertise.
    • Example: You either manage team members directly or work closely with them in a mentor and advocate capacity, addressing any role performance challenges proactively and appropriately. You set team members up for success to continuously elevate their roles on projects, are an expert at giving feedback and approach difficult conversations with confidence and care.

  • Company: Lead a culture of project excellence in the Performance department by guiding daily interactions, developing initiatives, and aligning individual efforts with organizational goals. Monitor team workflow, use business intelligence tools to optimize people and project allocation.
  • Example: You lead team-level conversations and support initiatives that keep Thrive on the leading edge of performance marketing. You get buy-in, work through change management, and successfully collaborate with cross-functional support as needed.

We’re committed to delivering an exceptional onboarding experience that will create a strong foundation for your launch in this role:

  • In your first 30 days you’ll familiarize yourself with Thrive’s tools and processes and begin onboarding to projects and teams across your department, identifying performance opportunities and building relationships. You’ll also begin developing an understanding of Thrive’s North American organizational culture and ways of working.

  • In your first 60 days you’ll be playing an active role across projects, collaborating with teams on day-to-day and longer-term account initiatives. You’ll begin developing processes and strategies to improve team and project success and sharing key insights with others. At the same time, you’ll deepen your fluency in how Thrive operates across time zones and cultures, adapting your style to support collaboration with both North American colleagues and clients.

  • In your first 90 days you’ll be stepping into account leadership opportunities, providing support across project planning, strategy, client partnerships and team skills development. By this stage, you’ll feel confident navigating Thrive’s North American business context while leveraging your unique perspective to strengthen team dynamics and deliver meaningful impact for our global client portfolio.

  • You have experience directly collaborating with and delegating to junior team members as a senior account manager. You have contributed to the development of multiple team members by leading training and providing strategic guidance and project leadership to the point of developing others to the next stage of seniority / role level.

  • You have advanced analytical skills and are experienced in using visualization tools like Google Sheets, Excel, Google Data Studio, Tableau or similar platforms to pull, sort, analyze and draw insight from ad platforms, analytics, and / or business intelligence tools.
