Senior Software Backend Developer

The Senior Backend Software Developer position at Session AI offers the chance to design and develop missioncritical solutions touching millions of consumers. Responsibilities:

Design, prototyping, and developing Session AI SaaS. Successful candidates for this position will focus mainly on the backend but projects involved may require understanding and participation in other software stacks.

Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning

Acting as the technical subject matter expert: Mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and at times, leading teams in solving challenging programming and design issues.

Handson coding (80%)

Resolve defectsbugs during QA testing, preproduction, production, and postrelease patches

Work crossfunctionally with various other teams, including product management, QA, teams from other product lines within Session AI, andor external businessdesign partners to drive forward results

Demonstrate a passion for developing wellarchitected and elegant realtime and highvolume SaaS.

Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies

Requirements

MustHave:

5+ years of experience in designing and developing Enterprise SaaS applications.

Expertise in JavaJ2EE, with strong knowledge of multithreaded, eventdriven architectures.

Experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, etc.).

3+ years of experience with RESTful APIs & Web Services (RESTSOAP).

Strong understanding of MVC architecture and at least one Application Server (Tomcat, Jetty, etc.).

Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, optimizing queries for highperformance applications.

Experience with unit testing & TestDriven Development (TDD).

Knowledge of scalability, caching, load balancing, and distributed computing principles.

Strong communication skills: Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Nice to Have:

Experience working with realtime eventdriven systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).

Handson experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CICD pipelines.

Familiarity with frontend technologies (JavaScript, React, or Angular).
