Aquatech has an immediate opening for a full-time VP, Global Controller, to join our team remotely. This person could also work out of our Canonsburg, PA, or Houston, TX, office location. The hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.

The Vice President, Global Controller, is to lead the company’s global accounting and controllership function. This executive-level role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and collaborate regularly with the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis to ensure alignment across financial reporting, business planning, and operational execution.

This role will also have regular engagement with Aquatech’s private equity sponsors, Board of Managers, and Audit Committee as we execute against our multifaceted growth strategy across end markets, geographies, product lines, and business models. This role will also have full leadership accountability for Aquatech’s global accounting organization, including general accounting, consolidations, project accounting, and internal controls, with a team of direct and indirect reports across the U.S. and India.

The VP, Global Controller, will ensure timely and accurate financial reporting by U.S. GAAP, while driving improvements in internal controls, financial systems, and process standardization across Aquatech’s global footprint, including key regions such as the U.S., India, Singapore, and UAE.


Job Description:

  • Demonstrate integrity, sound professional judgment, and a commitment to ethical financial stewardship.
  • Lead all global accounting operations, including general ledger, consolidation, project accounting, revenue recognition, fixed assets, statutory reporting, and intercompany processes.
  • Oversee global month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and ensure accurate and timely consolidated financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Own the company’s application of ASC 606 and lead percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and project-based accounting for large-scale, multi-phase capital projects.
  • Serve as the process owner for SAP ECC 6.0 Finance modules; support the evaluation of the company's long-term ERP strategy.
  • Build and maintain a strong internal control environment, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage the external audit relationship and coordinate the preparation of all audit deliverables and disclosures.
  • Partner with regional finance teams to ensure local compliance and statutory reporting, working closely with external tax and accounting advisors as needed.
  • Develop and mentor a geographically distributed accounting team based in Pittsburgh, PA, and Pune, India.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities and automation initiatives across the global finance function.
  • Support cross-functional decision-making by providing insight into accounting-driven financial trends, operational cost structures, and margin performance.
  • Serve as a senior finance leader, working closely with executive stakeholders across legal, tax, operations, and commercial functions.

Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Extensive experience with U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, and project-based revenue recognition (percentage-of-completion).
  • Proven ability to manage global consolidation and external audit processes across multiple legal entities and international regions
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing global teams across time zones and cultures.
  • Experience in capital project- or engineering-driven businesses with international operations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Big 4 public accounting experience, experience supporting operations in India, Singapore, the UAE, and other global markets, or Prior experience with ERP system transformation or finance systems integration preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Required - Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Required.
  • Ten or more years of progressive accounting and controllership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a multinational organization.
