This Vice President, Growth OptumUHC role will be the sales executive solely focused on net new business growth with UHG. With Virta’s outcomes and credibility and OptumUHC’s brand and marketshare, this role is positioned to make a huge impact on Virta’s growth. This role requires an experienced and driven sales executive that has worked with OptumUHC and understands how to navigate and progress revenue growth across each affiliate and line of business.
As the VP, Growth OptumUHC for Virta you will be responsible for building relationships with and selling through net new business with our OptumUHC partnership. This includes bottomsup relationship building with account executives as well as topdown relationship building with Csuite. Net new revenue growth across ASO, fully insured, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and other lines of business and affiliates will be the focus of this role. You will have the opportunity to execute our commercialization efforts and capitalize on the national buyin Virta is receiving for our industrychanging and lifeimproving work with diabetes reversal.
More specifically you will:
Manage and execute on the sales strategy for the OptumUHC partnership
Champion Virta by continuing to enable and activate this large partner
Manage and progress pipeline opportunities for growth
Track and report on partner KPIs to demonstrate success
Foster bottomsup and topdown relationships within the UHG universe and drive Virta awareness within their organization (promote Virta’s latest studies, accomplishments, news cycles)
Empower and enable our direct sales teams to sell Virta through this partner
Establish regular touchpoints with OptumUHC leaders (i.e., virtual meetings, onsites, marketing events)
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Virta on all things OptumUHC.
Work closely with Virta’s marketing, partnership, sales, and customer success teams to provide feedback and expose growth and execution opportunities as it relates to OptumUHC.
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
Become an expert in presenting Virta and the OptumUHC sales strategy
Collaborate on strategic plan with cross functional teams Customer Success, Marketing, Sales
Begin executing the business plan for success by engaging with OptumUHC leaders for growth
Focus on impact to revenue growth rate from OptumUHC partnership
10+ years experience in healthcare or healthcarerelated field
Significant understanding and experience either working at Optum or UHC in a growth role, or a wealth of experience of partnering and selling through OptumUHC for ASO business andor other lines of business.
Quantifiable history of meeting or exceeding sales targets or OKRs
Ability to present clearly to key decision makers
Consultative selling experience, including collaboration with an indirect sales team
Ability to proactively manage pipeline and willingness to leverage Salesforce in a strategic datadriven approach
Demonstrated collaboration with internal colleagues (marketing, product, ops, etc.) to support sales momentum
A passion for improving the health of millions of people with the ability to thrive in a mature startup environment
Knowledge of Type 2 diabetes and of potential competitors
Knowledge of weight loss vendors and dynamics of GLP1 weight loss drugs
Knowledge of other health care point solutions beyond diabetes
Experience in marketing salesenablement

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
