Minimum Qualifications:

  • A four-year undergraduate degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Sales experiences related to law enforcement personal protective equipment as well as experience in business development, and marketing.
  • At least 5+ years’ experience in channel management and/or sales management with a successful track record of advancing innovative sales strategies and delivering consistent results against target revenues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An MBA or related higher education is preferred.
  • A working knowledge of grant funding at the local municipal and state levels a plus.

About the Job:

In this sales role within Gentex Ground Systems, the Sr. Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new and existing customer relationships, as well as leading future business development activities, specifically targeting the US Local Law Enforcement market. Activities will be conducted within the framework of the overall Ground Systems Channel Sales Strategy and must be coordinated with other members of the Ground Sales team working in the same and adjacent market space.


The Sr. Sales Manager will be responsible for establishing and building close customer relationships to identify, develop, and capture new business opportunities. Activities include sales channel development and management, business opportunity identification, opportunity qualification, business capture strategy development, and tactical business capture planning and execution. The Sr. Sales Manager will be responsible and accountable for achieving revenues in their assigned market space in support of Ground Sales objectives.


Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Draft annual LE Budget with focus on short-term (1 yr.) and long-term (3yr-5yr) forecasts/ predictions.
  • Shape an effective sales channel strategy to maximize market share penetration and brand equity in the US Law Enforcement market segment.
  • Champion the execution of product line sales strategies to effectively capture new accounts, leverage channel partners, and build sales with existing accounts.
  • Implement pricing structures and strategies as part of sales incentive programs.
  • Effectively introduce new products through effective launch strategies with channel partners, as well as new and existing accounts.
  • Lead capture activities to identify, qualify and create new business opportunities delivering consistent growth to annual business revenue plan execution and realization.
  • Research, establish and sustain positive key decision-maker and decision-influencer relationships.
  • Work with local Law Enforcement organizations to identify, develop, and use grants and other funding streams to support PPE sales.
  • Manage selling expenses, including travel costs, tradeshow resources, & channel incentives
  • Collaborate with adjacent Gentex personnel inclusive of inside sales, sales support, product management, marketing communications (MARCOM) and business development resources to achieve sales growth objectives.
  • Organize product training for channel partner sales and other customer facing personnel.
  • Evaluate pricing decision criteria and parameters as established in authorized price books as well as escalating pricing strategy issues.
  • Provide Voice of the Customer (VoC) to the product management and marketing teams.
  • Recommend participation in industry trade groups, associations, and regulatory groups to advance our growth agenda as well as promote high standards of market engagement by all firms in the industry.
  • Collect and analyze market intelligence data within the LE market segment to monitor competitors and market trends that impact business strategy.
  • Grow Gentex headborne content in the US Law Enforcement market beyond Gentex's core helmet products to include optics, respiratory, situational awareness products and integrated headborne offerings such as power and data.
  • Attend trade shows, workshops, and seminars to maintain deep understanding of market segment and customer environment.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM to develop sales funnel and execute Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to enable timely delivery of customer orders.
  • Other sales and supervisory related duties as assigned.
