Job Description We are seeking motivated and energetic candidates to join as Senior Operations Technology Manager to support a rapidly growing portfolio of operating Battery Energy Storage facilities. The role will report to the company’s Operations Director and will work closely with IT, Compliance and AM team members to ensure the organization has appropriate procedures and is applying industry best practices surrounding Cyber Security and Operational Technology equipment management.
The Senior Manager will lead the development, implementation and optimization of technology solutions for renewable energy asset operations. This role bridges the gap between IT infrastructure, and operational technologies (OT) to maximize asset performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead integration and management of operational technology systems across renewable energy assets and Remote Operation Center (SCADA, Network monitoring & mgmt., etc.)
Develop and implement OT security protocols and maintenance strategies aligned with industry best practices
Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting systems to optimize performance and identify improvement opportunities
Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers
Lead cross-functional projects to implement new technologies and systems upgrades
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards (NERC/CIP, NIST, etc.)
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for OT systems
Train operations staff on new technologies and provide ongoing technical support
Develop and implement staffing strategy for OT needs based around scaling with business growth
Skills & Requirements
10 years’ experience in operations technology with at least 3 years in the renewable energy sector.
Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and OT security best practices.
Detail-oriented and analytical approach to problem-solving.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, Teams and Smartsheets.
Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, including an ability to maintain calm and effective exchanges by all parties during stressful situations, and executive level reporting that ensures timely action and decision making in time-pressured scenarios.
Bachelor’s and/or graduate degree in Computer Science or related field if/where applicable.
Self-motivated with an ability to own and lead resolution of difficult issues with a sense of urgency.
Strong organizational, project and time management skills.
Proven project management experience in technology implementation.
Some travel will be required.
Compensation & Benefits The actual salary and bonus offered will depend on the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.
Salary: $160,000
Bonus: 25%
