Job description

At the Hawthorne Gardening Company, we’re on a relentless pursuit to push the limits of growing performance.

We are looking for a Demand Planning Analyst who will join our team.

The Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for forecasting product demand to ensure optimal inventory levels and production efficiency. Working closely with brand partners, sales, supply chain and finance teams, this role will analyze data, customer buying trends, and any seasonal patterns to develop accurate, data driven forecasts. The analyst plays a key role in driving the overall planning process, reducing forecast error and improving sales and service levels across the organization.

In this role you will:

  • Forecasting: Create and maintain short and long term demand forecasts for given area using historical data and industry trends.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze historical trends, customer data, and call out any high variability in selling to identify demand patterns.

  • Continuous improvement/Project Work: Track forecast accuracy and identify reasons for forecasting errors and propose corrections to improve forecast reliability. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with supply planner to align production plans.

  • Collaboration/Communication: Be the point of contact for forecasting related questions and work with the cross functional teams to incorporate business insights and any promotional plans to the demand forecast.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Business, Supply chain or related field, ,

  • 2 - 4 Years of experience prefered

  • Experience in Supply chain planning in retail or consumer products. Experience with SAP is a plus

  • Strong analytical skills and abstract thought process, excellent organization, prioritizing, problem solving and decision making skills; Proficient user of Microsoft Office/Google Suite; team player with positive attitude and self motivation, excellent written and verbal communication skills, effectively partner cross-functionally within the organization

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $87,600.00 - $103,100.00. Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
