Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst develops, interprets and implements complex financial concepts and accounting concepts or techniques for financial planning and control for the AFCENT GPMS program. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).

Principal Accountabilities

• Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance.
• Creates and consolidates weekly and monthly reports by using a higher level of Excel.
• Participates in the development of cost controls, procedures, systems and forecasting techniques to evaluate contract/program status.
• Prepares detailed analysis of financial accounts as required.
• Monitors the budget for labor and overtime and provides analysis to the Finance Manager.
• Prepares spending trend analysis to assist with the forecast of future costs and reviews of actual vs. budgeted costs.
• Assists with the preparation of AFCENT GPMS and Site budgets.
• Maintains documented records supporting financial forecasts used to calculated rates and budgets.
• Ensures the accuracy of expense reports and miscellaneous expenses submitted for reimbursement.
• Provides rates and pricing data based on actual costs to Pricing.
• Coordinates and distributes charge codes for special taskings and exercises.
• Reconciles the corporate travel card on a monthly basis.
• Reviews invoices for accuracy.
• Prepares supporting documentation for facilities projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Works in normal office environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Must have outstanding organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at an advanced level.
• Ability to work independently and use own initiative and judgement. Strong analytical and organizational skills to oversee multiple work assignments.
• Must have a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar discipline, or 5 years accounting and/or finance related experience if no degree.
• Light to moderate lifting as required carried out in an office environment.
• Ability to work overtime as needed and sometimes outside of standard hours.
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with common Accounting Software (i.e. Deltek Costpoint) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred.
