Job description

Location:  This is a remote position based in India, with flexibility for occasional travel as determined by business needs.  Note that due to limitations in some internal systems or third-party job platforms, the location may appear as “United States” in certain fields. However, this role is intended to be filled by a candidate located in India.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a sharp, globally savvy sourcing leader to join our mission of transforming the lives of patients with CNS disorders. As Senior Global Sourcing Manager, you won’t just manage supply chains—you’ll build the strategic backbone that enables Praxis to deliver breakthrough therapies with speed and precision. You will own global sourcing for critical raw materials and specialty reagents, navigate complex regulatory environments, and partner cross-functionally to drive impact where it matters most: patients. This is a role for a builder—someone who thrives in complexity, dares for more, and leads with both rigor and heart.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Source and qualify global suppliers of GMP and non-GMP raw materials, high-purity solvents, and specialty reagents.
  • Lead supplier identification, qualification, and onboarding in collaboration with Quality and Regulatory teams.
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts while managing vendor performance and driving continuity of supply.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, ICH Q7, USFDA, and ECHA/REACH requirements across the supply base.
  • Drive cost and working capital improvements through strategic sourcing tactics such as dual sourcing, volume bundling, and incoterms optimization.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Process Development, and Manufacturing teams to support tech transfer and scale-up.
  • Conduct risk assessments and build mitigation plans for critical material categories.
  • Monitor global market trends and geopolitical factors impacting raw material availability and pricing.

Qualifications and Key Success Factors

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Pharmacy, or Chemistry; MBA in SCM/Operations a plus.
  • 10+ years of sourcing experience within pharmaceutical or CDMO settings.
  • Deep knowledge of global API supply chains and regulatory-compliant sourcing.
  • Proven success in negotiating with international suppliers and managing complex vendor networks.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable with domestic and international travel.
  • Prior experience in a sourcing or procurement role within established CDMOs is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with sourcing controlled substances, fluorinated reagents, or hazardous materials.
  • The physical and mental requirements of our roles include but are not limited to regular use of a computer, devices or other office equipment, clear communication, and occasional movement.  You'll need comfort with screen work, basic hand coordination, and focus.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
