Senior Faculty Trainer Health Professions Description

South College invites applicants for the role of Senior Faculty Trainer Health Professions. Reporting to the Executive Director of Leadership and Professional Development, the Senior Faculty Trainer designs and delivers evidence-based training programs to support faculty and leadership development. This role collaborates with academic stakeholders to create tailored learning experiences, mentor faculty, and assess training effectiveness to foster continuous improvement in teaching and leadership.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain professional standards, attitude, and performance levels to ensure effective, safe, ethical, and legal performance in all aspects of the position. 
  • Develop and deliver synchronous, hybrid, and asynchronous training programs tailored to the needs of a diverse faculty population, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and evidence-based practices.
  • Mentor at-risk faculty to enhance teaching effectiveness, providing guidance and support to improve instructional practices.
  • Assist the Executive Director of Leadership and Professional Development with the Leadership Academy and Fellowship Program, contributing to content creation, coordination, and evaluation.
  • Devise modes of assessment to measure the effectiveness of learning initiatives and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Review program evaluations, test results, and feedback from participants and leadership to recommend improvements for training programs.
  • Identify and select appropriate training media and methodologies based on audience learning styles, course content, and learners’ position in the educational process.
  • Facilitate and deliver training sessions, track faculty participation, and ensure compliance with training requirements.
  • Stay current on virtual learning trends, emerging technologies, and instructional methods to keep training programs innovative and effective.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve digital training instruction and faculty learning experiences.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director of Leadership and Professional Development and other academic stakeholders to align training programs with institutional priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the continuous enhancement of faculty development and instructional practices.
Requirements

Education

  • Required: Master’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution. 
  • Preferred: PhD, EdD, DNP.

Experience

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching nursing courses, designing nursing curriculum, and/or training nursing faculty training in a large higher education institution required.
  • Ability to travel to campuses to deliver in-person professional development trainings as well as the expertise to deliver virtual trainings. 
  • Solid knowledge of adult learning theory, including application in faculty training design.
  • Solid planning, organizational, and multitasking skills, with basic project management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to interact with institutional leadership, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and manage multiple priorities and deliver on-time results.

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience in faculty training design and delivery in higher education.
  • Familiarity with Canvas or similar learning management systems as well as proficiency in audio and video editing.
  • A background in training and learning design using Rise 360, Articulate, or similar training desing methodologies.
  • Experience with advanced curriculum design or learning analytics in an academic context.

Licensure:

  • Current nursing licensure in good standing required.
