Job description

The Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury is seeking a Legislative Data Analytics Auditor to help us protect the financial integrity of Tennessee by providing and analyzing data related to ongoing audits of state agencies and independent special projects.

As a Comptroller employee, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission of making government work better and producing meaningful audit work, all while having the time to enjoy life outside of work with our flexible scheduling and 37.5-hour standard work weeks.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Work in collaboration with audit teams to improve audit efficiency and increase the audit quality of financial, compliance, and performance audits using data analytics.
  • Build and update standardized analytical processes and templates that will drive improvements to audit efficiency while maintaining compliance with applicable audit standards.
  • Work in partnership with other state agencies to gain an understanding of their information systems and the data available for use in completing audit projects.
  • Support audits by collaborating with audit teams and the information systems audit section to determine the procedures used to interpret data and analyze results to achieve audit objectives while increasing audit quality.
     
Qualifications
You are qualified for this position if you meet the following criteria:
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, information systems, computer science, statistics, data analytics, or a similar major
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • General understanding of Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and other analytics tools

Compensation
