The Systems Engineer plays a key role in designing a wide range of systems used within commercial cooking and heating equipment. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for creating complete engineering solutions which optimize the design for a given requirement. The Systems Engineer will utilize knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines to ensure developed solutions are robust at a full system level. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that decisions are understood by the larger engineering organization.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop part, assembly and system requirements.
- Work closely with key component vendors to create and/or review system architectures to enable sustained growth.
- Support development of new testing methods.
- Apply statistical test methods and analysis tools (DOE, COV, noise factors, etc.).
- Conduct Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis.
- Work with Agency Engineers to ensure systems are compliant with all applicable codes.
- Provide innovative solutions to processes and projects.
- Create and analyze functional systems w/ ability to summarize learnings clearly for the engineering organization.
- Create design standards for products, assemblies, and critical components and help ensure compliance with the design standards.
- Work with all levels of engineering and other business units.
- Train, mentor and coach junior level engineers in their professional development.
- Driver of systems development. Assuring our designs meet a level of excellence and meet the needs of HP consistent with the product strategy, roadmap and industrialization strategy.

What We’re Looking For
- BS in an Engineering Field (Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Chemical)
- 10+ years of Engineering experience
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Intermediate in Microsoft office and presentation skills
- Broad experience in the field of engineering including exposure to software, hardware, mechanical systems and manufacturing methods
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills-RCA (Root Cause Analysis)
- Ability to drive action with outside areas of the organization as well as with our key vendors.
- Ability to consider multiple options, evaluate the pro’s and con’s of each and determine the best designs to move forward.
- Ability to articulate and justify decisions that are made in a manner that produce understanding and acceptance.
- Knowledge of Agency standards
- Design for manufacturability experience
- Technical expertise in HP products
- Strong knowledge of cooking and heating principles (combustion, heat transfer, fluid flow, etc.) preferably as it applies to commercial cooking equipment.
- Provide guidance to R&D for commercialization of future technologies
