Position Summary

The Event Manager II plays a critical role in leading the coordination and execution of multiple high-profile fundraising events for the Foundations of MultiCare, ensuring income and activity goals are met. With gross revenues ranging from $500,000 to $2,500,000 per event, this role is responsible for budget management, donor engagement, and revenue growth, all while elevating the public profile of MultiCare Health System and its care lines.

This position oversees a network of committee members and volunteers, fostering collaboration and engagement to maximize event success. The Event Manager II also cultivates and maintains key business relationships across MHS campuses and public constituencies, engaging community leaders, corporate sponsors, volunteers, external organizations, vendors, and local businesses to expand impact and exceed department goals.

By combining strategic planning, relationship management, and event logistics, the Event Manager II ensures each fundraising initiative drives meaningful contributions and enhances MultiCare’s presence in the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute assigned fundraising events, ensuring smooth operations, logistics, and troubleshooting to uphold MultiCare Health System standards.
  • Develop event planning and promotional timelines, working closely with the Director and Communications Manager to coordinate branded materials such as logos, posters, invitations, auction catalogs, and event forms
  • Handle vendor contracts and service agreements, managing relationships with event consultants and suppliers to ensure seamless execution
  • Assist in event budget development, tracking expenses, and providing periodic financial reports to the Director and event committees.
  • Secure event sponsorships, partnering with the Director and committee members to create tailored sponsorship packages and joint outreach strategies.
  • Support the establishment of annual solicitation goals, including in-kind contributions, cash donations, and auction procurement.
  • Provide guidance and supervision for event chairpersons and committee members, ensuring successful completion of responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in event management, business, communication or related discipline
  • Minimum four (4) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Current Washington state driver’s license
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in the logistical aspects of planning, production and managing corporate or non-profit events and/or sporting events
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in fund development, marketing or sales with personal solicitation experience
  • Experience with hardware and software applications in a networked environment, including use of Microsoft products, fundraising software (Raiser’s Edge preferred) and/or event specific software (MaxGiving, Prism, Just Giving)
  • Previous experience and demonstrated skills in a leadership or a supervisory role
  • Proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MultiCare Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $82,077.00 - $118,102.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
