Job description

Akash Network is the world’s first and only decentralized cloud computing marketplace, enabling any data center and anyone with a computer to become a cloud provider by offering their unused compute cycles in a safe and frictionless marketplace.
Created by Overclock Labs, we are a fully distributed global team of opensource developers, blockchain experts, and technology professionals working to build an open, sovereign, censorshipresistant cloud for everyone.

We are building the Supercloud — a decentralized alternative to AWS, GCP, and Azure — optimized for AI, ML, and generalpurpose compute workloads at a fraction of the cost of traditional cloud. If you want to operate at the frontier of infrastructure, finance, and crypto, we’d love to talk.

About the Role

Were hiring a Finance & Operations Manager who will own the financial and administrative backbone of our business including: AR, AP, payroll, treasury, and HR ops. You will grow into a Controller role over the next 12–18 months. You’ll report directly to the COOCFO and work closely with our service providers and global team.

This is a role for someone who is comfortable being uncomfortable, thrives on ambiguity, enjoys building structure from scratch, and is eager to operate in a cryptonative, frontier environment.

Responsibilities: Finance & Accounting Operations
  • Manage accounts payable, vendor onboarding, and fiatcrypto payments
  • Coordinate accounts receivable and collections
  • Run and support biweekly payroll for both U.S. and international contractors
  • Oversee treasury workflows including: cash tracking, wires, and operational wallets

  • Work closely with the Decentralized Cloud Foundation for crossorganizational efforts

  • Responsibilities: CryptoNative Finance
  • Track and document token activity, grants, and distributions
  • Coordinate with internal teams on ecosystem incentives and rewards

  • Compliance and contractor administration
  • Employee and contractor off boarding
  • Maintain internal HR documentation

  • Responsibilities: Process & Systems
  • Own and optimize workflows across QuickBooks, Rippling, Brex, Crypto Subledger, and other ad hoc systems
  • Help implement automation and improvements across back office operations
  • Create process documentation and SOPs for scale and audit readiness

  • Requirements:
  • 3–6 years of experience in finance, accounting, or operations
  • Familiarity with crypto finance and operations (wallets, tokens, onchain payments, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of AR, AP, payroll, and treasury workflows
  • Experience with tools like QuickBooks Online, Rippling, and Brex
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fastpaced, and evolving environments
  • Exceptionally detailoriented and processdriven, with strong documentation skills
  • Excellent asynchronous communication (we’re a distributed team)

  • Nice to Have:
  • CPA or progress toward certification (preferred)
  • Experience with crypto accounting and tax (e.g., token comp, chain explorers, custody)
  • Startup or DAO finance ops experience
  • Familiarity with crypto tax tools
  • Prior experience scaling systems and finance operations at an early startup or growthstage company
  • Growth Path:

    Within 12–18 months, you’ll:

    2. Formalize internal controls and compliance practices for scale
    3. Fully own both fiat and crypto treasury operations
    4. Grow into a Controller or Head of Finance Operations role

    Who Thrives in This Role:
