Job description

Make difficult decisions easier — for us and our customers.
At xentral, we use data to empower smarter decisions across the company. Our existing analytics team is responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure needed to support internal departments with reliable, actionable insights. Were now looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to strengthen our efforts and take our infrastructure, automation, and analytics capabilities to the next level.
Your Impact
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and evolving our cloudbased BI infrastructure. Youll collaborate closely with Data Scientists and internal teams to build scalable data pipelines, enable MLdriven automation, and support AIbased tools — all while ensuring data quality, reliability, and governance.

Your Tasks
  • You manage, optimize, and expand our BI infrastructure in the AWS cloud
  • You design and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines using Apache Airflow and Spark
  • You ensure data governance and implement automated datacode quality tests
  • You collaborate with Data Scientists to operationalize AIML models and build infrastructure to support their deployment
  • You develop internal tools and pipelines for automation use cases, e.g., AI bots for customer support and MLdriven solutions for Finance and CPS teams
  • You analyze data using SQL and Python to support internal stakeholders with actionable insights
  • You use and maintain structured and unstructured data from a wide range of sources
  • You help bridge the gap between data engineering and data science — focusing on enabling data use, not building models yourself

  • Your profile
  • You have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field — an advanced degree is a plus
  • You bring 5+ years of handson experience with Python in a production environment
  • You have solid experience working with Apache Airflow for orchestration and Apache Spark for distributed data processing
  • You know your way around the AWS ecosystem and have managed cloudbased data infrastructure
  • You are confident working with SQL and have a strong interest in data analysis
  • You’re experienced with both relational and NoSQL databases and can handle structured as well as unstructured data
  • You enjoy collaborating across teams and take pride in building tools and pipelines that empower others
  • You’re fluent in English; German skills are a plus
  • You’re structured, autonomous, and proactive — you take ownership and drive things forward
