Job description

Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, hello, hiya, gday, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and youre probably keen to find out whats on offer, so well get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and coworking spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if youre near one), at home or a bit of both, its up to you.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think thats all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things youll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Design, host and scale inclusive community experiences that foster a creative space for our template and element Creators (designers) to connect across different specialties, languages, and geographies.
  • Draft clear, inclusive communications such as newsletters, inproduct updates, email communications, and social posts that are tailored for our Creators
  • Drive the content and event calendar of our global community
  • Engage and moderate conversations with our Creators, ensuring timely, inclusive, and onbrand interactions
  • Strengthen and support our Canvassadors program, building trusted relationships with our most engaged Creators and empowering them to lead, cocreate, and advocate for the community.
  • Champion Creator feedback and needs across Canva, gathering insights, maintaining close collaboration with our product teams, and closing the loop with clarity and empathy.
  • Track and report on community health, using data to improve programs and inform broader strategy.
  • Enable our international communities by showcasing the best initiatives around the world while developing toolkits and systems that scale our best practices
    • Youre probably a match if

      • 3+ years of experience in community management or a related field, including experience with content planning and highly engaging initiatives. Bonus points if some of that experience is working directly with contributors or designers.
      • Passionate about building programs that inspire, empower, and elevate creative communities.
      • Experience scaling systems, using data and developing solutions to improve community programs.
      • Understanding of community principles, igniting intrinsic and extrinsic motivators
      • Strong writing and communication skills. You understand your audience and are able to deliver any message effectively in a clear and empathetic way.
      • Passion for visual content and storytelling. You can bring our brand values to life.
      • High emotional intelligence, attention to detail, a collaborative spirit and an energized work ethic.
      • Comfortable using data with the ability to monitor, analyze, spot trends, and interpret community and program metrics and turn the insights into opportunities or recommendations for strategic decisions.
      • Detailoriented and highly organized, with experience managing multiple projects and priorities
        • About the team & role

We’re looking for a Community Manager to engage and scale Canva’s Creator Community globally. This diverse group of designers create templates and elements for the Canva library—fueling our mission to make design more accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for everyone.

You will also craft communications that land the right message for our community members. You’ll work closely with marketing, product and regional teams to deliver meaningful experiences for our Creators and act as a bridge between our teams and our community. You’ll also be a systems thinker that is able to find the best initiatives and help roll them out across every region building our internal infrastructure to continue scaling with quality and consistency.
