Key responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping to ensure accurate and up-to-date accounts.

  • Support accounts receivable by preparing invoices, reconciling payments, and revenue recognition.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and analyses for the finance review.

Note: Partly is headquartered in Christchurch but has employees across NZ, AU, IN, PH, JP, UK and the EU. If you are not based in Christchurch, we will fly you to HQ for 2 weeks for onboarding, as well as 1 week per quarter for our “Season Openers” (we pay for your travel and accommodation). If you are relocating to Christchurch from NZ or from overseas, we can also assist with relocation costs.

🖍️ This role

We are seeking an ambitious Financial Accountant who is looking to accelerate their career in a highgrowth startup environment. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, Xero reconciliations, and other tasks supporting the Finance team and the wider Partly business.

The successful candidate will be our second finance hire and will partner with our Director of Finance to shape the future of Partly’s global finance capability.

This role will be remote and based in the Philippines, where we are building a talent hub to support Partly’s global business.

💻 What will you do
  • Daytoday bookkeeping take on the daytoday responsibility for ensuring that our accounts are accurate and up to date.

  • Taking ownership of accounts payable This will involve taking the bills that we receive from our suppliers and processing them in Xero (allocating to the correct accounts & reconciling payments).

  • Supporting accounts receivable This will involve preparing invoices for review by the Finance Director in Stripe, reconciling invoices to payments received in Xero and preparing revenue recognition.

  • Supporting Entity Accounting Partly controls multiple subsidiaries, and you will be required to help reconcile and prepare the monthly accounts for these entities every month.

  • Preparing analysis for the Monthly finance review (‘MFR’) every month, you will assist the Director of Finance in preparing for the MFR with the CEO and COO. This may involve producing supporting analysis & tracking KPIs.

  • Thinking of ways to do things better you will contribute to building the most efficient and technologicallysavvy finance department in APAC.

    • 🥷 Your skills
      • Qualified or partially qualified accountant (e.g. Accounting degree, CIMA, CPA, CFA, ICAEW). If not, a degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience is desirable.

      • Strong accounting knowledge from 2+ years of practical experience – knowing your debits and credits!

      • Experience using Xero is strongly preferred.

      • Excellent G Suite skills (Sheets, Docs, Slides), and Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) a plus.

      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

      • A desire to automate & make processes more efficient.
