The BIP (BI Publisher) Senior Developer is responsible for designing and developing advanced reports, document layouts, and data extracts using Oracle BI Publisher in Oracle SaaS ERP. This role ensures reporting solutions meet functional requirements, performance standards, and are aligned with Oracle best practices for extensibility.
Report Design & Development - Design complex reports and templates using BI Publisher for Financials, SCM, and Procurement modules; Develop XML data models using SQL or seeded views and build corresponding BIP layouts (RTF, XSL-FO, Excel, PDF)
Data Extraction & Transformation - Build secure and optimized data models by querying SaaS database objects exposed to BIP; Implement logic for conditional formatting, bursting, and layout flexibility
Performance Tuning & Optimization - Optimize SQL queries for report performance and scalability; Apply caching strategies and minimize execution time for large data volumes
Testing & Validation - Validate report outputs, data accuracy, and formatting with business and QA teams; Support UAT and production readiness testing for reporting components
Security & Compliance - Implement row-level security and role-based access in BIP reports; Ensure reports comply with Oracle Cloud data governance and audit standards
Documentation & Delivery - Document technical specifications, data model logic, and bursting configurations; Package and migrate reports across environments using recommended Oracle methods
Team Leadership & Coordination - Mentor junior report developers, conduct code reviews, and establish BIP best practices; Collaborate with functional, technical, and data teams for requirements and validations
Fluent in spoken and verbal English
6–10 years of experience in Oracle BI Publisher, with at least 2 years in Oracle SaaS Cloud ERP
Strong proficiency in SQL, XML, RTF template design, XSL-FO, and data modeling
In-depth understanding of Oracle SaaS ERP data structures (Financials, Procurement, SCM)
Experience in developing and managing BIP bursting, scheduling, and publishing
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Considered as advantage:
Exposure to OTBI, Smart View, and FRS (Financial Reporting Studio)
Familiarity with Oracle Cloud security model and data access control
Oracle Cloud Reporting or BIP certification is a plus
Experience working in Agile development environments and DevOps CI/CD pipelines
