This person will manage the relationship with our clients and brokers. They will function strategically for the overall scope of the client. They will be the primary lead for benefit management and growth for the Client; Work Site Employees; Brokers & Insurance vendors.
Roles & Responsibilities
Consultative and strategic planning around assigned brokers and clients for retention and growth opportunities
Lead team of Benefits Specialist in day-to-day management
Conduct presentations and meet with employees to discuss the array of benefit choices available.
Manage the renewal process
Participate continually in medical underwriting process with internal partner/team
Communicate renewal materials to client and broker
Prepare materials for employees based on client specifications
System update of changes
Presentation of changes in person or via Ring Central.
Benefit Enrollment portal assistance
Auditing and confirming for clients the employees who have enrolled and their elections
Manage Client expectations
Work daily with internal benefits team to provide guidance and/or resolve service problems to both employees and clients pertaining to:
Claim Issues
Eligibility problems
Billing discrepancies
Benefit problems
COBRA
Work with internal client facing teams on combined strategy and continual communication around clients. Collaborate, analyze and problem solve as a team
Manage communications materials for client worksites and co-employees regarding benefits in addition to any changes in benefits
Attend appropriate industry functions and participate in relevant industry training.
Develop and maintain an extensive knowledge of insurance coverage, markets and changes.
ACA Compliance guidance and understanding
Participate in vendor meetings
Process life event and status changes
Oversee the administration of non-Prestige plans
Conduct audits with Operations Team
Required Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills
Managed a team (developed, coached, trained, mentored)
Ability to handle multiple renewals at a time
Excellent written, oral, presentation skills
Thorough understanding of employee group benefits including COBRA
Strong analytics
Sales – upsell additional product offerings
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Strong computer skills and the ability to adapt to new systems.
The ability to work in a high-pressure environment
Knowledge of an HRIS system, Salesforce and Prism preferred
Required Experience:
Minimum of ten years or equivalent client and sales experience in group employee benefits
Thorough understanding of group health plans and the ability to analyze and prepare recommendations.
Experienced in a consultative and strategic role
NY Health and Life License required or within 60 days of employment
Experience in a consultative and strategic environment, role, and relationship
Salary based on experience up to $100,000 Hybrid role - 3 days in the office, 2 days work from home
