About the Project:

The Orange Guarantee Australia (OGA) is a pioneering initiative under the Orange Movement™ by Impact Investment Exchange (IIX). This innovative impact-linked credit guarantee program is designed to unlock capital for underserved populations, including women, minority, and indigenous-owned or impacting micro, small, and medium enterprises (impact MSMEs) across Australia.

By addressing the barriers these entrepreneurs face in accessing affordable finance, OGA aims to bridge the gender and equity financing gaps while fostering inclusivity and sustainable economic growth. The initiative works in partnership with financial institutions, philanthropic foundations, and the private sector to de-risk lending and catalyze investments into businesses that deliver meaningful social and environmental impact.

IIX is currently conducting a feasibility study and instrument design framework for OGA, supported by leading Australian family offices and philanthropic foundations. This initiative will promote gender equality, financial inclusion, and sustainability, bridging investors and sustainable and inclusive MSMEs.

Through a phased approach, IIX aims to assess the Australian market, develop scalable strategies, and position Australia as a global leader in sustainable finance. The Orange Guarantee represents a bold step toward creating an inclusive and equitable economy, empowering MSMEs to thrive as social and environmental transformation drivers.

Join us in building a resilient and inclusive future with the power of the Orange Guarantee.

About the role:

IIX is seeking a Senior Consultant – Fundraising and Partnerships, based in Sydney (preferred) or Melbourne, to lead capital mobilization and stakeholder engagement for the Orange Guarantee Australia (OGA) initiative. The role will focus on securing grant-based technical assistance funding and catalytic capital for the pilot guarantee facility, onboarding banking partners, and engaging a broad range of stakeholders—including government, corporates, philanthropic foundations, family offices, and ecosystem partners.

The Consultant will work closely with IIX’s global teams as part of the broader Phase 1 delivery, playing a central role in shaping partnerships and positioning OGA as a national instrument to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of Australia’s funding ecosystem, a strong network across philanthropic and catalytic capital providers, and a successful track record of raising and managing capital for impact-oriented initiatives. This role combines capital raising, funder engagement, and strategic input into the design of inclusive financial solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising and Capital Mobilization:
    • Lead capital-raising efforts aligned with OGA’s goals, including grant funding for technical assistance and catalytic capital for the pilot facility
  • Build and manage relationships with funders across philanthropic foundations, family offices, corporate CSR teams, and other catalytic capital providers
  • Develop tailored proposals, pitch decks, and funding narratives in collaboration with IIX’s strategy and capital teams
  • Provide input into the structuring of the guarantee facility and associated blended finance model, in alignment with Australian regulatory standards
  • Banking and Financial Institution Engagement:
    • Lead outreach to identify and onboard one or more banking partners to co-develop and co-implement the guarantee structure
  • Facilitate integration of IIX’s impact metrics and technical assistance into lending systems
  • Identify opportunities for partner banks to expand inclusive SME lending aligned with gender and climate objectives
  • Network Activation and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build relationships with federal and state government stakeholders relevant to financial inclusion, gender equity, Indigenous economic participation, and economic development
  • Engage corporates with ESG mandates, supplier diversity programs, or strategic alignment to OGA goals
  • Cultivate partnerships with women’s business networks, accelerators, Indigenous entrepreneurship groups, and other ecosystem actors
  • Convene or contribute to multi-stakeholder events, consultations, and workshops to broaden support and momentum for OGA
  • Strategic Collaboration:
    • Contribute insights from funder and stakeholder engagement to inform broader strategy, design, and implementation of the OGA initiative
  • Coordinate across internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on partnership and fundraising efforts
  • Drive communications and storytelling efforts to position OGA as a model for inclusive finance in high-income markets
