Accounts Payable Specialist (Cost Accountant)

Role Overview

As we continue to expand our global footprint, we're looking for a highly detail-oriented and self-motivated Accounts Payable Specialist (Cost Accountant) based in India to support our Finance operations. This fully remote position will work closely with U.S.-based and international teams, playing a key role in cost accuracy, vendor management, and financial reporting.

Your Impact

Invoice Processing & Cost Tracking

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices with a focus on accurate cost classification and allocation (e.g., COGS, operational expenses).
• Ensure proper matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices for goods and services.
• Apply cost accounting principles to allocate direct and indirect costs appropriately in the ERP system.

Month-End Close & Reporting

• Support monthly AP close processes, including accruals and journal entries related to cost of goods sold and expense accounts.
• Assist in cost variance analysis and reconciliation of AP-related accounts.

Vendor Management & Compliance

• Communicate with global vendors and internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, support onboarding processes, and ensure adherence to internal controls and policies.

Process & Systems Optimization

• Utilize accounting and AP automation tools (e.g., NetSuite, Tipalti) to streamline workflows and maintain data accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve AP and cost accounting procedures.

What You Bring

• 2–4 years of experience in Accounts Payable or accounting roles with a strong emphasis on cost accounting.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and cost allocation practices.
• Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and AP automation platforms.
• High attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Comfortable working remotely with distributed teams across time zones.

Bonus Points

• Prior experience in a U.S.-based or global SaaS, tech, or high-growth company.
• Familiarity with international payments and multi-currency AP processes.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
