Compensation: $$81,624.24 - $111,110.27 with a rich benefits package that includes profit-sharing. This is a remote position and can reside anywhere in the U.S.
    
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
This position reports to the Director of Software Engineering and serves as a facilitator for Scrum teams responsible for applying the scrum framework, ensuring scrum teams work effectively and efficiently. This position is responsible for ensuring adherence to agile practices conducive to high performance, self-organized team members and effective collaboration. The incumbent is responsible for upholding Agile values through teamwork, continuous improvement, adaptation to change and ultimately the organization’s success. This position provides a servant leader that facilitates events such as daily standups, reviews, grooming sessions, sprint planning, retrospectives. This position maintains and fosters a growth mindset for high-performing teams who thrive in a dynamic business environment, with the planning and achievement of work assignments leveraging Agile practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a related field such as computer science, communications, or information technology, is preferred along with at least 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master in Technology Delivery and a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification, demonstrating formal training and understanding of Scrum Principles is highly desired.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies with a proven track record of working in Agile environments and facilitating Agile practices with sprint ceremonies to coach, guide, and support team members.
  • Strong experience with Jira and Confluence, maintaining updates and performing Jira Admin duties.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders and clients.
  • Ability to engage business owners in analysis, user experience and technical conversations across platforms and multiple levels of influence.
  • Skilled to manage functional project/Scrum teams and broader stakeholders to take ownership when needed, escalate and resolve impediments.
  • Facilitation skills with expertise in conducting project requirements and environments.
  • Conflict resolution skills to mediate conflicts and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a commitment to improving processes and team performance.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks as delegated.

  • Internet access provided by a cable or fiber provider with 40 MB download and 10 MB upload speeds.
  • Home router with wired Ethernet (wireless connections and hotspots are not permitted).

  • A functioning smoke detector, fire extinguisher, and first aid kit on site.
Duties And Responsibilities
Scrum Master
  • Facilitate and lead agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint demos, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure the team collaborates efficiently to deliver high-quality products and meets deadlines within budget and quality standards.
  • Identify and remove impediments hindering the team’s progress.
  • Work closely with the product owner to groom the backlog and prioritize tasks.
  • Ensure the team follows the Scrum framework and continuously improves processes.
  • Align team goals with organizational objectives and manage dependencies with stakeholders and other teams.
  • Act as a mediator to resolve conflicts within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, and manage release timelines and cross-team communication.
  • Manage Confluence spaces, updating the Agile Knowledge Management System with new documentation, including processes, practices, and lessons learned
  • Lead or participate in Scrum of Scrums, discussing and deconflicting cross-team dependencies
  • Assist Product Owner with defining Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done
  • Assist team with Sprint and/or PI Objectives
  • Facilitate team collaboration sessions, as needed
  • Create, or assist with creating, Agile presentations and how-to guides, proofreading for correctness and ensuring proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation prior to release to customer.
Jira Administration
  • Administer JIRA and Confluence, including user management, permissions, workflows, and configurations
  • Customize JIRA workflows, fields, screens, and reports to align with our business processes and requirements
  • Configure Confluence spaces, templates, macros, and plugins to support effective collaboration and knowledge management
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for JIRA and Confluence users, including training sessions and documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and implement solutions in JIRA and Confluence
  • Create and maintain Jira and Confluence collaboration sites (e.g., Kanban boards, Scrum boards, documentation pages, etc.)
  • Analyze, research, manage, and implement integrated Atlassian tools, plugins, and applications
  • Interface with various diverse stakeholders as a liaison and trusted advisor
  • Help define how information systems may be upgraded or replaced
  • Gather requirements for business processes, and determine ways to optimize

  • Maintain and service safety equipment (e.g., smoke detector, fire extinguisher, first aid kit).
