we are seeking a Manager, Digital Applications Development and Engineering who will manage the technical aspects of the Digital Experience (DX) products. This position will report directly to the Senior Director, Software Development and Engineering with geographic flexibility to work remotely offered by Tanger’s hub-and-spoke approach to a modern Teams-driven workplace.

About the Role:

As the Manager, Digital Applications Development and Engineering you will ensure sound architecture and security for our web and app platforms. You will oversee the Digital Development and Engineering team while performing hands-on coding to deliver high-quality scalable applications  . You will collaborate with the Digital Operations, Marketing and Loyalty teams to align technology solutions with business objectives and enhance overall performance.

How you will contribute to what we do:

     Technical Strategic Planning (40%)

  • Develop and implement technical strategy that aligns with the overall goals of the digital experience, marketing and loyalty teams.
  • Act as the technical lead to guide the development team with digital initiatives. Architect and design website data layers and the Customer Data Platform.
  • Work with digital operations, marketing and loyalty teams to implement CDP platform for Customer 360 strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with digital operations, marketing and loyalty teams to implement mobile and web site enhancements to elevate digital experiences.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent project initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills to balance competing priorities across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Innovates and stays up to date on latest technology trends and best practices.

     Hands-On Development (60%)

  • Directly contribute to timely, high-quality, and maintainable code through hands-on development.
  • Work with integration developer to effectively integrate data between digital platforms (ContentStack, Coniq, CDP) and DWH and other external systems as needed.
  • Provide deep knowledge in building applications of mobile platforms (iOS, Android) using react native and best practices for building compelling mobile experiences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

About You:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline or work experience in a related field.
  • You have eight (8) years of experience as a development manager and have relevant experience within commercial real estate industry.
  • You have five (5) plus years in digital experience product development of digital marketing, e-commerce, web, and mobile applications.
  • You are familiar with the software development life cycles (SDLC).
  • You possess a strong understanding of technology and integrations (e.g. APIs, SDKs, etc.)
  • You have development experience in web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks.
  • You have experience developing DX solutions using Next.js. React.js, GraphQL, and ReactNative.
  • You are familiar with ADO or other application lifecycle tool.
  • You have experience with customer data platforms (CDPs) (e.g. mParticle, TreasureDat) and familiarity with CDP best practices.
  • You are proficient with Google Analytics and other relevant analytics and reporting tools.
  • You have Mobile app development experience with ReactNative for iOS and Android.
  • You have experience with headless CMS platforms (experience with Contentful, Content Stack, Storyblok is a plus).
  • You have expertise in A/B testing, multivariate testing, and other optimization techniques.
  • You have a strong understanding in Git, Azure Architecture, Object Oriented Programming, and RESTful API
  • You have experience with data privacy and implementing compliance measures with tools like OneTrust.
  • You are an excellent communicator with great collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • You have excellent analytical skills and project management skills with the ability to interpret data and drive actionable insights.
  • You have strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with little oversight
  • You are creative problem solver with a passion for driving continuous improvement in digital experiences.

Hiring Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Tanger's total compensation package for employees.

Hiring Range: $95,400 - $145,200
