We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, including reconciliations, reporting, auditing, and assisting other areas with accounting-related queries. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional with strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles.

The OSGLI Accounting team is responsible for administering the Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance program (SGLI). In this role, you will collaborate with others, enhance and transform the way we operate, while meeting and exceeding our commitments to the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform accounting reconciliations on a daily, month-end and quarter-end basis.
  • Compile and prepare data for quarterly and policy year-end auditor requests, including responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Complete monthly and annual accounting reports.
  • Complete Lost Check Statements as needed.
  • Audit and correct monthly allotment transactions.
  • Reconcile conversion financial reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Process wire requests for conversion, claims, and customer service as needed.
  • Assist customer service with inquiries related to payments and allotments.
  • Collaborate with the BSD in testing accounting processes.
  • Prepare various manual accounting vouchers when necessary.
  • Review accounting procedures and ensure updates are made to the Pru Library.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on reconciliation and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with auditors.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $59,300.00 to $88,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
