Job Description

As a Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications for open source projects at the Linux Foundation, you will be pivotal in representing the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). You have experience driving global campaign planning and execution, spearheading demand generation strategies, managing paid media, creating compelling content, and integrating marketing efforts to support sales outreach and enablement.

You’ll be responsible for helping develop marketing strategies for the CNCF and leading their execution throughout the year. Your marketing plan will encompass a combination of activities that support integrated campaigns that leverage community engagement, content development, virtual and live events, social media, web/landing pages, account-based marketing (ABM), performance marketing and conversational marketing.  You won’t be alone in this effort, as you’ll be supported by an expert team of marketing pros that enable our automated demand gen tools, deliver creative services, manage event venues and logistics, and provide analytics and reporting. You will also be responsible for leading community marketing committees, defining strategies and executing programs to grow developer engagement and education.

This position is for a senior contributor who will manage shared marketing resources to achieve the foundation’s goals, and help define the overall community and marketing engagement strategy. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Strategically leads and oversees complex, high-impact content initiatives.

  • Fosters innovation, collaboration, and transformative outcomes across the Linux Foundation ecosystem.

  • Defines and drives overarching content strategy for programs.

  • Defines and executes marketing program strategy

  • Identifies opportunities for project and organizational program growth and efficiencies.

  • Drives meeting strategy, influences key stakeholders, and champions organizational accountability and transformation.

  • Defines and oversees marketing operations performance; spearheads demand generation strategies, manages paid media, and integrates digital marketing efforts to support sales outreach and enablement.

  • Reviews and reports on content engagement rates, MQLs, and engagement/adoption. A

  • Provides budget leadership and key decision-making with a focus on cost reduction and maximizing value for projects.

  • Leads cross-functional collaboration, aligning teams and stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes and organizational growth.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of marketing experience in B2B business, preferably in open source or software businesses

  • Deep knowledge of open source software and experience with modern marketing tooling.

  • Demonstrates success in building strategic marketing plans and campaigns

  • Exceptional communication skills for executive-level reporting, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership.

  • Successfully leads and manages changing priorities and major challenges.

  • Highly creative, composed, self-directed.

  • People management experience.

  • Exemplary organizational skills with the ability to prioritize across complex projects and provide guidance to junior staff.

  • Experience managing high-level stakeholders, including C-level.

  • Certifications in HubSpot: Email marketing, Digital marketing,

  • Ability to travel internationally.

Additional Information

Salary $125,000 - $140,000 USD
