Job Summary:

Acts as a second line of defense in managements system of internal control with a focus on internal control over financial reporting (ICFR). Conducts examinations and evaluations of the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization's system of internal control. Works directly with first line control and process owners to ensure controls are designed and operating effectively and that any control weaknesses are properly evaluated and resolved.

Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to perform assessments of financial reporting processes, that are designed to ensure their accuracy and completeness, based on recognized risk and control frameworks and principles.
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ICFR.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend enhancements as needed.
  • Proficient with performing root cause analysis and assessing impacts of various internal control deficiencies.
  • Prepare and present reports on internal control findings and recommendations to control owners and senior management.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to ICFR to support ongoing organizational compliance.
  • Provide training and support to control owners on internal control procedures and best practices.
  • Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Develop internal control procedures and compliance reporting plans.
  • Coordinates control design, monitoring, testing, and remediation with Internal Audit, Compliance, and relevant business leadership.
  • Assist leadership in developing relevant reporting to governance committees and Boards.
  • Performs such other duties as are required or assigned for which the employee is qualified to perform.
