Job description

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Principal Accountant, VP Accounting to join our finance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, providing essential financial insights, and acting as a primary liaison with various internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
  • Consolidation Ownership: Take the lead on our financial consolidation process, including selecting, implementing, and maintaining consolidation systems (Excel or other platforms).
  • Forecasting & Analysis: Assist CFO in the expense forecasting process, working closely with the VP Finance and various organizational departments. This includes managing both headcount and vendor forecasts through direct collaboration and diligent vendor tracking.
  • Period End Compliance Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely period-end compliance reporting.
  • Cash Flow Management: Develop and maintain the 13-week cash flow forecast, providing critical insights into liquidity.
  • Bank Reporting Identification & Review: Be responsible for the identification, tracking and review of bank related reporting for various financial reports.
  • Insurance & Banking Liaison: Assist with miscellaneous schedules and ad-hoc reporting related to insurance and banking, acting as the primary point of contact with key third-party providers.
  • Tax Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison for both corporate and partnership tax matters, working closely with external tax advisors.
  • International Support: Understand the accounting operations support to our CAD and LATAM resources for HR, Legal, and Tax-related matters.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on consolidation, Controller background, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with international operations is a plus.
