Job description
Client Enterprise Data Team is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to assist with a new project. They will be responsible for helping with the build out of a new data lake on AWS. This person should have experience in the creation of the design and architecture of data lakes. All of the current code this person will be working with is in Python so they will need to have experience writing code from scratch and modifying existing code.

Since the data lake will sit on AWS, this candidate must have strong experience working with AWS and AWS services (including but not limited to Step Functions, Lambdas, ECS, S3 buckets, Redshift, and more). The design and architecture for the data lakes will later be implemented by the team in collaboration with this data engineer so they will need to help guide other junior and mid-level resources through the implementation.

Soft skills are also very important for this role - they will need to have great communication skills, be proactive, and help guide more junior resources on the team. They are looking for a "go getter " - this team does not want someone who waits for instruction.

Required skills

Design experience in creation of data lakes on AWS - experience with architecture and creation of design for data lakes
AWS experience - Step functions, lambdas, ECS, S3 buckets, Redshift, etc.
Python coding experience - need to be able to write code from scratch and modify existing code
Strong communication skills is a requirement - will need to help with the implementation of the design and architecture they create so need to be able to guide the team through this
Needs to be proactive and a leader on the team - this person will be working with more mid level folks so need to be able to guide and help others on the team
