The Role

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer you will design, build, and maintain robust infrastructure across the entire stack—ranging from core build and deployment systems to userserving servers, data pipelines and storage systems to trading platforms and research infrastructure. Design and build core systems that result in higher efficiency for eng teams. You will play a critical role in supporting both realtime and batch workflows, ensuring scalability, performance, and high reliability for missioncritical systems.

This is an individual contributor role, utilizing your subject matter expertise to lead various efforts along with crossfunctional leads to drive critical decisionmaking with regards to the core systems and infrastructure.

What You Will Do
  • Maintain and evolve key infrastructure at Arta, this includes build and deployment infrastructure

  • Enable engineering to design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure supporting both realtime and batch workflows, with a focus on highthroughput, lowlatency data processing for autonomous trading, quantitative research, and userserving servers with high uptime.

  • Maintain cohesive design across multiple different projects as well as scopes in a way that manages the complexity of our cloud projects

  • Contribute to architectural decisionmaking, documentation, and mentoring of teammates in infrastructure best practices and automation strategies.

  • Collaborate closely with frontend, research, and trading teams to ensure infrastructure and data pipelines meet performance, precision, and usability needs.

  • Integrate thirdparty platforms and data providers, ensuring secure and reliable APIdata stream ingestion, and handle complex external data integration challenges.

  • Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks and inefficiencies in distributed systems, optimizing performance and resource usage.

  • Own deployment pipelines and production operations to ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and observability of critical services

  • Architect and implement scalable systems that support highthroughput, lowlatency data processing, critical to autonomous trading and quantitative research

  • Enforce security best practices and collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet compliance, audit, and governance requirements

  • Continuously improve the reliability and availability of production systems, using automation to reduce toil and manual interventions.

    • Who You Are
      • At least 10 years of overall software development experience

      • Extensive experience with multicloud environment such as AWSAzure, and preferably GCP, along with cloudnative technologies

      • Proficiency in Python, C++ and Bash for infrastructure automation and tooling

      • Strong expertise in CICD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), orchestration technologies, and infrastructureascode tools like Pulumi

      • A deep understanding of security best practices in cloud environments

      • Proven ability to work in crossfunctional teams, collaborating effectively with frontend, research, and trading teams

      • Strong problemsolving and optimization skills, with experience tackling complex scalability challenges, including userserving infrastructure with high uptime

      • Prior experience in trading platforms or financial systems is highly preferred

      • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a fastpaced startup environment

      • Authorized to work in the US

      • Based in the Bay area or you have plans to relocate, and you are able to work from our Mountain View office at least 23 times a week

                  We determine your salary based on factors including your interview performance, jobrelated skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Our offers are based on salary bands that are updated periodically using market benchmarks and consider geographic location as well (for example, higher cost regions like San Francisco or New York). If you are presented with an offer, we will review the base salary, benefits, number of options, notional option value and strike price. We would like to know if you accept our offer within 7 days.

                  Please keep in mind that the equity portion of your offer is not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.
