The selected candidate will serve as the Contracts Lead for the Resilient Navigation Solutions (RNS) program area within Collins Mission Systems. In this role, they will oversee and lead a team of approximately 20 contracts professionals. The candidate will provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and leadership to a mixed team managing a broad portfolio that includes U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contracts, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), licensing agreements, and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS). This position requires a strong leader capable of driving compliance, risk mitigation, and business execution across complex contract types and customer engagements.

The person will bring strong business acumen, deep subject matter expertise, and comprehensive program knowledge to effectively assess program performance, provide strategic guidance, and influence outcomes to achieve both programmatic and financial objectives. This role requires regular engagement and communication with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.

The candidate will be responsible for leading a rigorous change management process to proactively identify and eliminate ambiguities or unauthorized changes that may lead to cost overruns, delivery issues, performance challenges, or schedule delays. They will be expected to develop and implement strategic approaches to address complex contractual and programmatic issues through detailed analysis and problemsolving.

In addition, the candidate will lead the development of negotiation strategies, review Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Contract Change Proposals, and Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), ensuring proposed solutions align with customer requirements, appropriately address risk, and comply with company policies and standards.

As a key member of the RNS Senior Leadership Team, the Director, Contracts will support the VPGM of the Product Line and collaborate closely with crossfunctional partners, including BusinessEstimating and the Office of General Counsel. The candidate will provide expert advice on company policies and procedures, contractual rights and obligations, and risk mitigation strategies across all contractual activities.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement customer engagement strategies to ensure effective contract execution and timely resolution of contractual matters
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with Program DirectorsManagers, Product Line Leaders, and key Functional Leads to drive alignment and program success
  • Manage all contractual and commercial activities to support the achievement of programmatic and business area objectives
  • Provide strategic contracts leadership for all pursuits, proposals, REAs, and negotiations within the RNS mission area
  • Identify and apply innovative contracting approaches that promote winwin outcomes for RTX, its customers, and international end users
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability in resolving complex challenges, leveraging situational awareness to develop and execute effective engagement strategies
  • Influence stakeholders across the enterprise, balancing competing priorities while navigating a fastpaced, dynamic environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel, up to 25%, as required to support program objectives and customer engagements.
    • Qualifications You Must Have

      • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, ideally in contracts administration, program management, proposal development, and negotiation of development, production, and service contracts
      • Proven experience managing complex contracts andor subcontracts
      • Strong working knowledge of U.S. Government contracting regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and experience with international contracting practices
      • Experience leading crossfunctional teams, with a track record of success in a geographically dispersed environment
      • Advanced business acumen and general management skills with the capability to lead functional or business teams
      • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience

                  The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, educationtraining, and key skills.
