CPMs are key members of the investment team and are responsible for effectively positioning and communicating the platform's capabilities, views, positions and performance to current and prospective clients and consultants, as well as internal partners across the firm. CPMs serve as a key interface between Sales and Client Relationship managers and the investment teams, addressing many client and prospective client inquiries, thereby enabling our investment teams to focus on managing our clients’ assets.
The Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) is a client facing role which requires a deep understanding of the investment team’s philosophy and process, positioning, performance attribution in various market environments and outlook on both a macro- economic and sector basis. The CPM serves as a specialist to both internal and external stakeholders and demands strong presentation and relationship skills to influence the firm's growth objectives. The role requires collaboration with all facets of Distribution to grow assets under management across vehicles and enhance placement on recommended lists and inclusion in home office discretionary model portfolios.
Responsibilities include providing sales support for current and prospective clients discussing the fixed income platform's product lineup, ensuring clear communication of benefits and performance of individual strategies; providing insight and guidance to the Marketing Department in their development of client-ready external collateral, commentaries, and other materials for existing clients and prospects; partnering with Product Managers to ensure a clear and consistent message across strategies; creating content for Thought Leadership in the form of blogs, whitepapers, etc and assisting in RFPs/RFIs.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, both in-person and via phone/video is a critical requirement. Travel is key aspect of the role as well.
