The role 

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join our technology team at Frontiers.  

As a QA Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality software by collaborating with teams, planning and executing tests, and helping drive continuous improvement. This position offers the chance to shape product quality and work alongside passionate professionals in a dynamic, innovative environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Engage early with developers, Product, and stakeholders to define and refine requirements, ensuring consistency and testability throughout the development cycle. 

  • Estimate, prioritize, and coordinate testing activities for the engineering team, managing test planning and execution for each release with minimal supervision. 

  • Define the scope of testing, develop detailed test plans, and execute test cases to ensure quality deliverables. 

  • Identify opportunities for test automation and contribute to the creation, expansion, and maintenance of automated tests, including executing automated suites and analyzing results. 

  • Document, track, and manage defects according to internal team procedures and established incident and problem management processes, assisting in refining these workflows as needed. 

  • Monitor all stages of the software development lifecycle to identify and resolve system issues, proactively report risks, and provide insights for continuous improvement. 

  • Promote a culture of quality within the engineering team by encouraging best practices and continuous improvement in quality engineering processes. 

  • Participate in, and occasionally lead, initiatives and projects within the Quality Engineering community. 

  • Collaborate with other development teams to enhance and align quality engineering practices across the organization. 

  • Follow established team and quality engineering processes and guidelines, proactively contributing to their refinement and ensuring adherence to standards. 

  • Implement data validation tests to verify data quality, integrity, and correctness in both batch and real-time processing environments. 

  • Troubleshoot and analyze data issues, identifying root causes and working with relevant teams to drive solutions. 

 

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 

  • Minimum 2 years of QA experience, with strong skills in test planning and execution. 

  • Solid understanding of testing methodologies, standards, and tools. 

  • Experience with agile testing practices and the software development lifecycle. 

  • API, Performance, and Load testing skills. 

  • Familiarity with SQL and non-SQL databases. 

  • Ability to write, review, and maintain automated tests; coding skills in at least one language. 

  • Experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems (preferably Git).

  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. 

  • Strong understanding of data validation techniques and data integrity best practices. 

  • Strong background in data engineering or analytics, with experience handling and testing large datasets. 

  • Proven ability to validate batch data processes and conduct post-processing verification for data accuracy and integrity. 

Preferred Skills and Experience:  

  • Experience with Spark 

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure. 

  • Understanding of data governance and compliance requirements.
