About the Team and Project

This engineering team specializes in implementing opensource software, with a focus on Open edX. Open edX serves as a learning management system, content management platform, course authoring tool, and more. Our team’s goal is to implement the latest features from Open edX and develop reusable X Blocks for WGU’s internal use. We are seeking highly skilled engineers interested in advancing innovation in online education.

Core Responsibilities

• Demonstrate both leadership and performance principles in alignment with our company mission.

• Experience: Technical Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of professional experience in Python and Django, including building enterprisegrade applications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (master’s preferred).

  • Frontend development experience with JavaScriptTypeScript libraries or frameworks (React preferred) for building dynamic and responsive web interfaces

  • Proven leadership in developing and scaling fullstack applications.

  • Experience with modern infrastructure technologies, including AWS, Docker, and containerization.

  • Expertise in authentication protocols like OAuth 2.0 and SAML, and experience in servertoserver integrations.

  • Strong relational database experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.

  • Handson experience with test automation frameworks such as PY test.

  • Expertise

    • Proficiency in GitGitHub, pipenv, and related development tools.

    • Experience integrating thirdparty platforms and building custom API endpoints.

    • Familiarity with opensource platforms like Open edX.

    • Location: This role is currently remote within México; the position will shift to a hybrid model once our Guadalajara office opens.
