About the Team and Project
This engineering team specializes in implementing opensource software, with a focus on Open edX. Open edX serves as a learning management system, content management platform, course authoring tool, and more. Our team’s goal is to implement the latest features from Open edX and develop reusable X Blocks for WGU’s internal use. We are seeking highly skilled engineers interested in advancing innovation in online education.

Experience: Technical Qualifications:
9+ years of professional experience in Python and Django, including building enterprisegrade applications.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (master’s preferred).
Frontend development experience with JavaScriptTypeScript libraries or frameworks (React preferred) for building dynamic and responsive web interfaces
Proven leadership in developing and scaling fullstack applications.
Experience with modern infrastructure technologies, including AWS, Docker, and containerization.
Expertise in authentication protocols like OAuth 2.0 and SAML, and experience in servertoserver integrations.
Strong relational database experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
Handson experience with test automation frameworks such as PY test.
Expertise
Proficiency in GitGitHub, pipenv, and related development tools.
Experience integrating thirdparty platforms and building custom API endpoints.
Familiarity with opensource platforms like Open edX.
Location: This role is currently remote within México; the position will shift to a hybrid model once our Guadalajara office opens.
