Job description
Role: Experienced Backend Software Engineer (PHP)
Scope: Providing the backend functionality for our product Teamleader Focus
Location: Ghent, Belgium or fully remote within Europe
Teamleader Focus: the allinone tool that helps small businesses optimise CRM, projects, and invoicing.
Teamleader One: the goto einvoicing software that selfemployed pros can count on.
Teamleader Orbit (2019): helping mediumsized agencies thrive and scale.
Dexxter (2024): making financial admin a breeze for freelancers.
You are a key member of a crossfunctional team and responsible for providing the backend functionality of a feature or initiative. You turn functional challenges and acceptance criteria into skillfully crafted and easy maintainable application code.
Not only that, but you use your experience to pinpoint bugs, bad coding patterns, identify risks and come up with potential solutions.
Once you get used to the Teamleader way of doing things, you make suggestions to improve the process and code quality.
You participate in technical discussions, both within your team and with other teams, to come up with solutions for common problems.
You coach more junior developers through pair programming sessions, code reviews... or just by asking them the right questions.
You maintain a critical eye towards potential API improvements.
You monitor the build and deploy pipeline to make sure your teams work ends up in our customers hands swiftly and adequately
