Most recently Biolog expended it offerings with the acquisition of Anaerobe Systems to offer Anaerobic Chambers and TruPRAS specialty media. Biolog also offers lab services, specializing in organism identification through DNA-Sequencing and MALDI-TOF at its Newark, DE location. Biolog is looking to expand its current cellular analysis product offerings while remaining committed to supporting its current customers in many diverse markets.
Biolog is hiring for a Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) for the North American Team selling into the East Coast of the United States and Canada with a preferred location in any of the central hubs along the East Coast (any state touching the Atlantic Ocean). We are looking for a highly motivated individual to sell Biolog products, including microbial ID instruments and reagents, Phenotype MicroArrays, mammalian products, the Odin family, and Anaerobic Chambers. In addition, the TSS will support our customers in a technical capacity and by providing their knowledge and technical support to the post sales process. This individual will report to the VP of Sales, North America. The ideal candidate will be able to provide pre-sales support to answer technical questions, give technical presentations, perform software demonstrations, and on-site product demonstrations as well as present the data from the resulting demonstrations. Post-sales support will be expected for technical customer questions.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about serving customer needs and be well versed in microbial biology, cell biology, and biochemistry. This individual should have a strong interest in selling to researchers and be able to support Biolog customers in the field after appropriate training. Overnight travel is estimated to be between 20-40% and is location dependent.

Responsibilities:
· Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets in the assigned geography selling Biolog cellular analysis products and Anaerobic Chambers
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with current key and prospective accounts by fully assessing and understanding the needs and applications of customers
· Maintain and grow product usage by conducting technical presentations and by providing product support and seminars
· Conduct product demonstrations for prospective customers and present acquired data on short timelines
· Proactively generate new sales leads and opportunities
· Navigate orders through the customer purchasing process
· Update Salesforce CRM system regularly and qualify leads from Marketing
· Provide sales forecasts to Management as requested
· Develop and maintain customer satisfaction in the assigned territory knowing you are there to support their success through our workflows
· Relay product feedback to marketing to inform new product development
Qualifications:
· MS degree in microbiology is highly preferred.
· 2-5 years of successful technical sales experience selling, conducting presentations and product demonstrations in the life science sales industry OR highly motivated Field Applications Scientist with 2-5 years of experience who is ready to step into a sales position
· Extensive microbiology knowledge and experience including aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, yeasts, and filamentous fungi
· Experience selling in complex purchasing environments with multiple decision makers
· Ability to work collaboratively and foster professional, constructive relationships as part of a team while also working independently to produce/ analyze data and meet challenging timelines and goals
· Excellent communication skills for oral presentations, customer discussions and written technical reports required
· Ability to travel domestically on a regular basis (20-40%, depending on location) and to Canada as needed
· Able to work in the United States currently, and without future sponsorship requirements
