Responsibilities
- Serve as the firstlevel point of contact for potential customers on all topics related to Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) SCADA, BESS Power Plant Controller (PPC), and Energy Management System (EMS).
- Provide technical expertise and lead both related technical and commercial discussions throughout the project lifecycle — from origination and contract negotiation to signature and, when required, project execution.
- Support procurement activities by: participating in identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, defining technical requirements for framework agreements, leading negotiations on technical aspects, and defining aftersales technical support for BESS SCADA, PPC, and EMS solutions.
- Develop inhouse knowledge and documentation of all services offered by BESS in active markets, including: functional specifications, testing requirements, timelines, and milestones.
- Approve technical solutions offered to customers, ensuring compliance with internal standards and projectspecific needs.
- Design preliminary, projectspecific communication architectures and define the scope for BESS SCADA, PPC, and EMS systems.
- Maintain a deep understanding of available signals and communication interfaces at all BESS levels (BMS, PCS, MVskid, PPC, and EMS), identifying opportunities for optimization and performance improvement.
- Follow up regulations and standards on cybersecurity and ensure product offering is compliant and futureproof
- Enhance the existing product portfolio by developing technical requirements and participation in procurement activities for new applications, including hybrid controllers, plantlevel SCADA systems, and others
- Coordinate with crossfunctional teams across project execution and product development to ensure alignment and technical excellence.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience with SCADA systems, Power Plant Controllers (PPC), and Energy Management Systems (EMS), ideally in the energy storage or renewable energy sector
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Automation, or related field
- Familiarity with BESS components such as BMS, PCS, MVskids, and typical communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, IEC 61850)
- Experience supporting technical sales or presales processes, including customer interface, proposal development, and contract negotiation
- Strong understanding of project lifecycles in utilityscale energy projects, from origination through execution
- Solid grasp of grid interconnection standards and utility requirements for SCADA and controls
- This person can be based anywhere in Europe.
