Company Description:
Rewst is a tool designed for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to streamline and automate their processes, saving valuable time and effort. Our platform helps MSPs achieve big automation wins, resulting in increased productivity and efficiency. We value the flexibility of remote work and enjoy opportunities to collaborate in person on occasion.
We’re looking for a Senior AI Developer who doesn’t just know how to build with AI—but knows why it matters. Our ideal candidate understands (or instinctively thinks like) the MSP engineers who rely on Rewst: they’re overwhelmed, stretched thin, and need tools that give them time back—not just more noise.
Your job is to build AI that moves the needle. That means shipping features that eliminate mundane tasks, simplify complexity, and let MSPs focus on growing their business—not just running it. You’ll play a handson role designing intelligent, agentic capabilities that augment human work, not replace it. You’ll help us strike the right balance between automation and interaction—knowing when the human should stay in the loop, and when the system can act on its own.
This role is about realworld impact. If you’re tired of LLM demos that never ship or agents that hallucinate more than they help, this is your chance to build something better—with a team that values clarity, execution, and customer empathy.
What You’ll Do:
Design and build AIpowered features embedded directly into our core automation workflows (e.g., natural language task creation, workflow analysis, AIassisted bots)
Work with large language models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, opensource LLMs) via APIs or selfhosted
Implement agentic AI frameworks that can take contextdriven, autonomous action such as with our Agent Smith endpoint agent
Tune prompts and inference pipelines to balance speed, accuracy, cost, and reliability
Design systems that know when to escalate to human interaction and when to continue autonomously, ensuring a seamless MSP user experience
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to bring ideas from prototype to production
Evaluate and integrate relevant opensource tools or services (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Pinecone, etc.)
Ship production code: this is a builder role, not just experimentation
Tech Stack:
While not exhaustive, we work primarily with:
Python, FastAPI, Celery, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, React (for UI)
LLM providers: OpenAI, Claude, opensource LLMs (e.g., Mistral, LLaMA)
Agent orchestration: LangChain, custom orchestration layers
Cloud: AWS and Microsoft Azure
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years in software engineering, with 2+ years working directly with AIML systems, especially LLMs
Experience integrating productionready AI features (not just prototypes)
Strong understanding of prompt engineering, embeddings, retrievalbased generation, and agent architecture
Familiarity with agentic behaviors in LLMs—designing AI agents that act autonomously yet responsibly
Thoughtfulness around humanAI interaction design—when to automate, when to ask, when to hand off
Bonus: Experience with automationRPA, agentbased systems, or the MSP space
Strong communication skills—can bridge technical complexity with userfacing value
A builder mindset: you think in product, not just models
Bonus Points For:
Building or contributing to opensource AI tools, LangChain agents, or MCP
Experience finetuning or hosting opensource LLMs
Working in a fastmoving SaaS environment
Handson experience with observability, telemetry, and cost optimization of AI inference
Why Join Us:
Opportunity to make a significant impact in a fastgrowing startup environment
Collaborative and inclusive culture that values creativity, diversity, and innovation
Competitive compensation package, including equity options and benefits
Flexible work arrangements and a supportive worklife balance
