About the Role:

Are you a commercially driven professional with strong technical acumen and a passion for building lasting customer relationships? SMT GB is looking for a Penta Strategic Account Manager to lead the strategic growth of Volvo Penta’s industrial engine product range across Great Britain.

This is a pivotal role where you’ll combine commercial strategy, market insight and handson technical knowledge to drive both new engine sales and the longterm success of our aftermarket services. Youll work closely with OEM partners, end customers, and the Volvo Penta team to ensure industryleading support throughout the full product lifecycle.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Strategic Growth: Develop and implement a clear business plan focused on profitable growth across new engine sales and aftermarket parts & services.
  • Customer Engagement: Build strong, highlevel relationships with new and existing customers, working collaboratively with Volvo Penta’s sales and development teams.
  • Market Insight: Identify commercial opportunities through regular market analysis and competitor intelligence.
  • Sales & Marketing: Create tailored customer sales plans and marketing campaigns to capture new business.
  • Technical Leadership: Support OEMs and end users with technical advice, installation reviews, commissioning, and application engineering. Ensure all installations meet Volvo Penta’s certified standards.
  • Training & Representation: Deliver product training to OEMs and represent SMT GB at key trade shows and industry events.

      The ideal candidate should have:

      • Proven experience in account management or sales, particularly in the construction or heavy machinery sector.
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships.
      • A strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within accounts.
      • Excellent negotiation and problemsolving skills.
      • Selfmotivated and resultsdriven with a focus on delivering highquality service.
      • Familiarity with CRM systems and tools for tracking account performance.
      • A solid understanding of financial principles, driving budget management.
      • A valid drivers license and willingness to travel as needed.
        • Desirable:

          • Knowledge of SMT GB’s products and offerings within the Penta market.
          • Experience collaborating with crossfunctional teams to deliver tailored solutions.
          • An understanding of SMT’s corporate values, vision, and customer needs.
          • Previous experience representing a company at industry events and exhibitions.
