Job Position: Sourcing Specialist

Work Arrangement: Remote (LATAM)

Job Type: Fulltime, Independent Contractor

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM CST (with some flexibility based on workload and supplier time zones)

Role Overview:

The Sourcing Specialist (LATAMfocused) – A fulltime, proactive global sourcing expert to lead the procurement of technical and industrial components—for MKD GmbH’s European client base. This hire will own RFQs, streamline supplier discovery, reduce margin loss from distributors, and improve response speed on complex quotations. This is not a backoffice role—it requires sharp commercial instincts, high technical curiosity, and the ability to source directfrommanufacturer, not just Google parts.

Your Impact

Your core impact lies in:

  • Managing RFQs from global clients, handling 10–40line requests with high attention to technical specs
      • Source manufacturers or direct suppliers for mechanical and electrical parts, primarily in the U.S. and Mexico
      • Cut out distributor markups by identifying OEM sources through research, outreach, and relationshipbuilding
      • Evaluate part equivalencies, perform technical comparisons, and escalate edge cases to Germanbased engineers for final validation
      • Enter, enrich, and maintain data in MKD’s webbased ERP (Englishcapable)
      • Support quotation development and product margin analysis
      • Track timelines and ensure fulfillment aligns with customer requirements
        • Requirements

          What we are looking for:

          • Minimum 3+ years experience in global sourcing, purchasing, or procurement (U.S.LATAM focus strongly preferred)
          • Strong technical literacy with mechanicalelectrical parts (bonus: bearings, couplings, blades, industrial equipment)
          • Ability to break down an RFQ, identify missing technical info, and match SKUs with confidence
          • Proficient in ERP systems and comfortable learning new tooling
          • Excellent written and spoken English; must communicate clearly with U.S. and EU suppliers
          • Resourceful, persistent, and detailobsessed
            • Nice to have:

              • Experience with specialty or medicalgrade manufacturing parts
                  • Prior exposure to global supply chain operations or fulfillment workflows
                  • Spanish or German language skills (basic proficiency is a bonus)
                  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Teams, and sourcing softwaretools
                  • Has previously supported a Europeanbased team with overlapping or opposing hours
